Seems that since Cody did 'somewhat' have the animal in his possession he should at least face that penalty. Why was he harboring a wild animal? Sounds like he should be fined for that at a minimum along with the $250. Also, the bar that allowed a live wild animal in doesnt sound very sanitary. Dont they serve food and beverages? And they allow untested wild animals in during business hours? Sounds like a ServSafe violation for starters.

@@evilsharkey8954 Actually, no it doesn't. Read the Constitution. It explicitly says that if it isn't mentioned in the Constitution, it's the States right. This is how overreaching tyranny begins in Republics. This isn't the first Republic which devolved into a tyranny. They all do if they don't collapse from external attack or environmental change. Everybody loves tyranny they agree with. They problem is that tyrants will jump at any excuse to add more control and power over citizens. They use excuses like "for your own good", or "think of the children" or "there ought to be a law". It's because citizens are so ignorant and selfish that tyrannies always arise in every government -- if they don't start that way. I don't like what that guy did, but the public is putting enough pressure on the state that we'll see the state address it. It's not a good look. Stop begging for central authorities to rescue you and your pet issues. Governments don't care about you or anyone else. If they're asking for more power, it's not to do you a favor or to help the animals. Not ever. It's either about making more taxes or gaining more power. They pass no law which doesn't accomplished one or both of those goals. Governments do NOT care about you. They never have. They can't. That's not how humans work. If they assert that they care, that's when they care the least. Your family can care about you but strangers who have control over your life see you as an impediment to power -- at best. It's because humans don't understand this simple truism that they invite their own destruction. Nobody is coming to save you or the animals. You are your own first responders. Internalize that truth and you'll have most of what you need to prevent the worst life has to offer.

Whatever your views are on predatory animals - no animal deserves to be deliberately tortured and paraded around like that - you can clearly see that poor wolf was suffering and was mostly likely in shock due to it’s docility in the bar… he wasn’t even a year old… he was just a baby. And to Cody’s aunt, Ivy - when a wolf kills its prey, that’s what it’s supposed to do - it kills to survive and, not for ‘pure sport’…. A wolf has no concept of sport… what a dumb thing to say… they should all be ashamed of themselves.. in this case, Cody Roberts was the predator and he should be held accountable for what he did. There may be no animal cruelty legislation in that area, but that doesn’t mean you have to torture the animals. Shameful 🤯

Wolves hunt because unlike "intelligent" humans, they don't have the convenience of just shopping at Piggly Wiggly for supper. Also, wolves, as well as other wild predators, are vital. natural hunters that do great service to the herds they hunt by choosing the weak, and old or sick to take down - to eat -so they can survive. When was the last (only) time a hunter proudly boasted about the small, weakling animal they took, not just for food for themselves, but for the benefit of the population of wildlife?

maybe $2,000USD And six months in state prison? then at a min one year probation, spending time at a humain shelter deal. and forbidden for 20 years from being able to hunt anything. but i agree there is NO reason to hurt or mistreat any creature.

Wyoming sucks for defending animal abuse. This is wrong!

Dozens of people have contacted the animal welfare groups with offers to support their efforts to have charges brought against Roberts. John M. Barr, an attorney in Richmond, Va., is one of those people, and his donation was made specifically to create this reward. “As an attorney, the rule of law matters to me and the law says ‘no!’ to animal torture,” Barr said. “It broke my heart to see the suffering in the eyes of that young pup with her mouth taped shut to muffle her cries of agony. Theia may be silenced, but I have a moral obligation to help encourage others to speak on her behalf.” “I am grateful to Mr. Barr for caring enough to reward citizens who share details of a crime that shocks the conscience,” Pacelle said. “He’s not alone in wanting justice delivered and meaningful penalties meted out.” In addition to demanding a successful prosecution of Roberts, the Center is also calling for four meaningful reforms for wolves: Ban the use of snowmobiles to run down and crush animals. Abolish the “predator zone” where wolves can be wrongly killed. Prohibit the use of hunting dogs. Ban the use of wire snares and steel-jawed leghold traps.

Not only is Attorney Barr a true human being and morally conscience man, but the lady who does the Animal Watch podcast also commented on, and shared names, bar name, and even phone number of the sicko participants who gleefully sat & watched the torture.

The whole town seemed to be complicit in this horrible crime.

Hater behavior is not who we are. It is asocial no matter what living being it is perpetrated on.

BAN ALL WOLF HUNTING! BAN ALL “SPORT” HUNTING! BAN ALL UNNECESSARY ANIMAL CRUELTY!!! The only hunting that should be permitted is that which is essential for survival! If it isn’t a necessity for survival, regardless of whether it is cultural, traditional, a hobby, predator management, pest management, a way of obtaining meat (when there are other food options) etc, it should be banned!
