This is soul stirring beauty . What I love are videos showing Friesian horses close up, as well, interacting with their human families. They bond closely with those who love and care for them. I've seen a Friesian jumping a fence , his rider losing her seat, and the Friesian moving beneath her to catch her. Their intelligence , intuition , sense of humor and happiness grows, the closer they live as part of their family's lives . I'm thrilled to have come upon this video of magnificent Royal Friesians. I've been following the daily life of a Friesian , Apollo, in the U.K. His intelligence , humor, his loving, willing heart and beauty are something to behold. He has a wonderful family, including an Arabian gelding stable mate, who take very good care of him , and his personality shines. These horses ,imho, fulfill all you could wish for in a horse, and quite a bit of what you can imagine of them. Bravo . Bravo Friesian !

All footage was taken in the Netherlands in July/August 2011. The KFPS Registry organized a trip for photos and videos and this was a compilation to help people from all over the world see the Friesian horse in different settings and disciplines. These are some of the top horses in the breed- many are of the 100 approved KFPS Stallions that are allowed to breed to purebred Friesian mares to maintain the quality in the breed. This video gave me goosbumps all over! I am 72 and did not know what a Friesian horse was until a few months ago. I watched the video of the rescue of 200 horses stranded on a small island and the rescue group was called to action by a woman in Friesian horse group. The women with their horses led the stranded horses off the island to safety and the herd was spared. Brave women, brave horses and a tribute to the true shared spirit of humans and animals. A beautiful video. That action of the front legs must have been very useful in battle in the olden days. Picking their way over obstacles and bodies and changing over the centuries! I had a full blooded black Morgan mare that looked just like these Friesens. Magnificent animal! I had her for 14 years had sadly had to put her down because she broke her leg in a fall. I CRIED FOR DAYS!
