But wont you get wet..when pour heavy rain...especially at the bottom of the ground?its soil..i suggests you dig at least 5 or 10inches..at the sorround of your tent..to let the water have other way..its like you make a canal..for water so that it wount enter inside your shelter/tent..so you wont get wet .also your belongings .

Apart from a gun. You may want to carry a 900-mile laser pen pointer(cheap), whistle & a survival 8" blade knife to your hiking/camper kit as a defensive weapon. Tie your knife to a medium-sized tree branch about 4-5 feet long and you have a spare toward any danger. The laser can blind any beast and be used for signaling. I also carry a loud firecracker m-80 when I hear a weird noise I light one up after the loud bang all is quiet.
