Been setting my sieve the way Marion said , case IH people tell me I am crazy . Well call me crazy , but it works like a champ ! As Marion and I said via e-mail we are surprised it has not been accepted and adopted in their settings .

Hi there, I am using a cih 1620 this year for the first time. It seems to be doing a good job. 200+ bu corn less than 2mph 20% moisture .6% dockage. I have followed alot of your setting suggestions. When it comes to the transport vanes are you talking about the ones in the grate area or the ones in the threshing area also? Thanks for all the great videos.

Damn these improvement are extremely helpfull! I have use years those wrong concaves and now works very fine! 100-400 buschels for acre and i have nothing to change on the sieves, the corn just come out perfect in every conditon, in wet stocks works better and i have less fuel consume, and in soyabeans too. Lol we have those different concaves in the shop and never used, we trought those are for barley

have. a 1440 combine for 20 years . did great job in beans , corn , and oats . 3 years ago purchased a 2188 . only use in beans . cant get beans clean ! . was told to put a short bottom sieve in . thats our next step for this year . looking between the two combines thats the only diffrence. except the rotor. one other thing we only have a 20 foot head . i was told that was the problem ?

ive got a s780 running in 23-26% corn having a hell of a time with small cobs in the tank, going to try to open the concave clearance, any other tips?

Some people have slowed the rotor down and that seems to help stop breaking corn cobs. It does seem like the John Deere breaks a few more cobs than a red combine. John Deere runs a tapered or bullet rotor and the red people run a straight tube rotor. Not sure but that might have something to do with it. -Marion

Can you do a video on how you set set your harvest Trac I have one on me Deere and I can never get it set
@ViciouslyFish5 жыл бұрын
Harvest trac is just the grain loss monitor right? The grain loss monitor on the jd s series uses a calibration number. I have my calibration number set to 20. At that number I have zero loss in corn when it’s running in the bottom red and green. I start seeing loss in the upper red. In 200 bushel corn I was running below the green almost always.

Hi, I have a 1688 with speciality rotor, large wire concave and keystock grate. Was trying to combine 25% corn yesterday, slowed rotor down to 320 (started at 370) and close concave up to 3 (started at 4) and still have rotor loss at the back of the combine. Would you remove some some wire or do something else? Thank you.

From Marion: One thing you could do is pull every other wire in the large wire concave that's in the number one position. You'll need to put a cover plate under it if you use this combine to cut beans or wheat because that would allow too much straw or too many pods to reach the cleaning chamber. The second thing you could do is take the transport veins that are above the key stock separating grates and put them in the slow position, that means the top of the vein toward the cab and the bottom of the vein toward the rear of the combine. Hope that helps!

Do you open the shoe up wide open for soybeans too? Having a hard time getting Beans clean and I'm sometimes overloading the tailings elevator.
@rick40203 жыл бұрын
Try closing the chaffer a little more and increasing your fan speed if too many pods in the tailings. if there are alot of unthreshed pods in the tailings close the concave down until you see cracked beans in the tank.also can increase cylinder speed a little but I don't like to run over 550 in a 9400.
@oKFarmer2 жыл бұрын
no. you want the sieve closed enough to send most pods back through tailings. you want the chaffer open enough to let the most whole pods through. and, you want to minimize whole pods reaching the separator on the first pass.

Does Mr. Calmer's combine rotor is standard or speciality?
@CalmerCornHeads4 жыл бұрын
These are standard parts - www.abilenemachine.com/ can supply you with replacement parts.

What concaves do you recommend for a JD ? Particularly a S670
@CalmerCornHeads5 жыл бұрын
The approach for the concaves should be the same, regardless of the color of your machine. JD likely sells a comparable option that will function the same. Please call Marion at (309) 368-1182 for further questions or information. Thanks!
