Calpernia speaks on "Finding Hope" the the Metropolitan Community Church in New York City, June 22 2003. This was a wonderful trip to New York, and I had a great time with the people of MCCNY. Check my diary link for more info!
NEWS! The lovely children from the hit TV show "Stranger Things", starring Finn Wolfhard, have started a band called "Calpurnia"... that's Calpurnia with a U. It's gonna be tough to compete with their PR machine and Netflix popularity, but hopefully any fans from "Stranger Things" who come upon my site or music will share their love with me, too! There's room for all of us. I've been performing under my name, Calpernia, since 1994, and I have so much more to share with the world!

Oh wow...I can so identify with the things you are saying as a Lesbian who was raised Southern Baptist. I still carry my KJV daily. Calpernia, I'm an FTM who struggled to maintain my faith in God, realising that what I am directly contradicted what the church said God accepted. I have been disowned by my church, my friends, my family. But now I am strong, and I have a greater understanding of the word of God more than those fundamentalist Christians who think that they can judge me. Your words inspire me Calpernia. Dear Calpernia, I was enjoying you so on youtube that I wasn't realizing you were the gal with the soldier bf. I'm so sorry- I am going thru my 1st year out in Sacramento and life is quite different. About yourself, in the the video you say "that was God's will - I think", well i'm certain, that if you are happy and sure of your choices, then God must be amazingly happy, sure and proud of your choices........

you're sweet in this video speaking nicely of your family. I went to church as a child with my family and around 7 was molested by my Sunday school teacher. I have visited other ppl's churches since but it's not the same. I don't try to have religion in the ways that I go worship at one... I have found a place on FB that accepts anyone tho and strangely enuff I think that's the same thing as a church, to a degree. My father does not approve, nor does he like me, so I envy you.

I will comment about marriage in this church. On a deep spiritual level Replacement Marriage (which is between two men or two women) Is simply a human institution NOT a Divine institution at all. Replacement Couples declare on a deep spiritual level that man has defeated God. Their relationship also declares Jesus Christ NEVER rose from the dead but was eternally dead and powerless. Only man reigns supreme!
