A woman who won't leave their own country for the west is either not trusting you or already understands the problems of the west. Amazing stuff! None of my Filipinas over time have ever asked for a visa either.... lol? Interesting

I agree with you brother, im 55 years old filipino-american i was born in the Philippines and moved to America when i was 13 years old. I'm retiring this year and moving back to the Philippines and my next girlfriend/wife must not want to go to America. I want to live a simple life in the province away from big cities like manila. Alot of filipino has a misconception that if they move to America there life problems will go away, guess what it doesn't. I rather live a slow and simple life and away from American stress.
@heatherfeather99512 жыл бұрын
I know that opportunities are limited in the Philippines but if more Filipinas knew just how much someone has to work (even with both husband and wife working full-time) to keep a roof over our heads they would think twice about wanting to come here. The cost of living here has exploded in the last five years and 1000 USD a month seems like a fortune to a Filipino but in the US you will be homeless on that. I don't take my citizenship for granted but the American hamster wheel is not discussed enough amongst Filipinas who think that Americans have it so easy.

Lol move to the country and don't watch CNN you'll find life is so much simpler!! We have had no rise in crime, no riots, no covid restrictions, and we manage to live safely with 1 part time cop lol Dogs and roosters don't bother us either!! Life is good here! Minus indoor plumbing, good internet and dependable electricity it's just like being in the province!

I’m just so sick and sorry to hear about John. He might not have had the healthiest lifestyle but he was young and strong. John should have had a lot of years left and I can’t help but think how different it might have been if he had received effective medical care sooner. Condolences to you and his people. I know you’ll miss him a lot. When the dust settles and it’s not so emotional, maybe you can tell us if this gives you any insight into medical care and issues about the Filipino medical system that ex pats can learn from. You could save lives in honor of John.

Calvin is exactly right. I will add another data point here. I am Vietnamese American and I go to Vietnam to vacation and also stay. It's a near certainty, from experience with thousands of guys who have brought their new Asian wives to the US, that the relationship will not survive. Primarily because the girl doesn't know how to handle it (think back of how nuts you went when you first come to Asia, and she would experience the exact same thing in reverse, except with an incentive of 50% of your assets and a green card under her belt). Not being cold, just reality.

I totally agree with you Cal, because in Puerto Rico and most lating countries specially the less fortunate areas where people live of the land and other means. Both man and woman have been working by the age of 8 years old. I myself together with all my cousins have been working since the age of 8 in my grandfather land. We didn't have toys or electronics and we even heartily watch any TV back when I was a kid. And we all went to sleep at 7pm to be up by 4 AM the next day to work again. The American life took that away from most people. That's we have a lot of man and woman maturing up late, because they are all leaving from mom and dad and not lifting a finger. But most of us Latin people grew up playing in the dirt amd working in the dirt.

I'm not surprised. Filipina does not want to leave home. Usually they go to the states on visa to be with their man. It is so tiring to hear people say "oh she just wants to live here". They don't want to live in the USA, unless it is for work. Their home is a paradise... Also, I spent the time to find a gal that is on the same page as me. This is important as I was looking for a wife, not a girlfriend. My wife never owned toys. When she was 12, she worked washing clothes.

Great topic!! Your advice always pursues exactness and excellence. Yes, if a person's self-preservation (or self-protection) isn't a priority, he or she will eventually get sucker-punched. An adult with childlike trust puts him or herself in a vulnerable position like unsuspecting prey. If you have what someone else wants, be wary of subtle charm. Some people always think ahead and maneuver for their own benefit, which is what you should do as well.

My Missus can't wait to leave Australia. She would have been quite happy to stay in the Philippines. But she accepted that we had to go. She had a very well paid job and was sad to leave her employer. Not all Filipinas want to leave home. Find one that wants to stay put. A lot of the decent ones don't have anything to run away from. I love the Philippines and when I retire next year my wife and I will enjoy the freedom of the Mountains one day and the beaches the next. For the first time in our lives we will have the time to do whatever we want. We have a retirement income that will keep up well fed and my wife has 3 houses. One in Cebu city, one in the mountains of Siquijor and the other in Siquijor town near the beach and pier. Only 11 months to go. See ya soon. Great video as always. Keep up the god work. Have a great day.

I would say she's also thinking about self-preservation. Preservation for her family for the future. It is self-interest I agree, but it's also preservation. She knows the future they can hold for her children her grandchildren her great-grandchildren and generations to come. It's not greed. it's not necessarily a pure money thing or being an opportunist. If they're already married it should not be a big deal for them to file for Visa now for the children.If she leaves with the children and goes to move to the United States, he can move on and find another. Take that chance. I would rather her be with me when she knows she can leave anytime but chooses to stay.
