When will the Seat Window Video of the Baby Bullet from San Francisco to San Jose be uploaded
@FanRailer9 жыл бұрын
Michael Guthrie When I go back some time in the future and shoot one.

Hopefully someday you will post the Baby Bullet Video from San Francisco to San Jose
@FanRailer9 жыл бұрын
Michael Guthrie There is no view out the front traveling in that direction, so you'd have to settle with a seat window shot.

I noticed when another train approaches this train the headlights flash left and right until it gets close the they go steady on. Is that normal practice ?
@FanRailer8 жыл бұрын
The ditch lights flash when the horn is blown / bell is activated. It just so happens that in this video, the trains meet near stations or at grade crossings, where the horn / bell must be activated. If there were to be train meets on sections of track that do not require horn or bell, then you would not see the lights flash. So it just happens to be a coincidence here.
@FanRailer8 жыл бұрын
In fact, if you go to 1:01:30, you will see a train pass where the ditch lights do not flash.

I did notice that I did not know why though. Thanks for the info.

Anytime.

Now I just have to figure what the signals mean. Steady and some blinking looks a little confusing with more than one set on the same side showing different colors.

I am not familiar with the seating on these cars. Is this shot from a passenger seat to side of the operators position?
@FanRailer9 жыл бұрын
No; this view can be accessed from the lower level vestibule door. You need to stand for this.

Awesome job! You kept the camera very still.

Great video! But I must say that this train system is absolutely archaic and inefficient (I live in the Bay Area). The horn and bell noise is ridiculous; you can still hear the train even if you live kilometers away from the tracks and the carriages and locomotives are heavy and slow. Moving here from Europe, even though this area has all the tech industry, feels like going 100 years into the past.
@derekonxbox4 жыл бұрын
The locomotives and coaches have to be heavy cuz the FRA mandates it. All US trains are heavier, and stronger to be able to withstand crashes. In Europe, more focus is applied to "Crash Prevention", henceforth why European trains are often lighter and faster where as in the USA focus is on "Crash Survivability".
