Why do they ring that bell when they arrive at the stations? Apart from being ridiculous, it is very annoying. Don't travelers see when a train is approaching? That in Europe would be inconceivable.

Believe it or not, there are people who cant see. Theres actually a term for it, called blindness. The bigger question is, why are europeans such babies and annoyed by a little noise?@ricardbernad2916

I’m also a Caltrain KZbinr. Thanks for documenting this late nite EMU shakedown. One suggestion is to turn off the automatic focus on your camera so your footage stays in focus.

With camcorders you would set the camera in manual focus and use the “push auto” button whenever you need to change focus. Hardly ever any need for continuous auto focus. Don’t know what kind of equipment was used here.

They don't need the bell to be that loud and that fast. Hopefully they're able to adjust it before the trains go in service. EMUs in the Northeast (all M series all Silverliner series all Arrow series, all prior DLW LIRR PRR NH NYC and RDG units) and around the world don't have bells, so I'm not sure why they felt the need to have bells on these.

The new electrified trains on CalTrain look and sound like light rail trains. I thought the new trains were going to be equipped with raised letter Nathan K5LA horns along with Graham White E-bells.

Very bummed they’re not using the AEM-7 for testing, but I suppose it’s better to train crews on the units they will soon be operating rather than train them on a new locomotive that won’t be used after testing

Electrification is the right way to go for our railroads, but these EMU's are awful. The Horn and Bell are utterly disgusting, the trainsets are ugly, and the worst part about them; they're not even American. We shouldn't have to rely on foreign manufacturers here. We should be able to build stuff for ourselves.
