I was in Mexico last year and tore both quad tendons within 15 minutes of each other. I was stuck in a Mexican hospital for 12 hours. Then two airlines denied me a flight home because I was a risk not being able to bend my legs and in a wheelchair. My wife thought we will rent a car and drive home....I said it's a 47-hour drive and 20 of it through mexico, and we will never get to the border. Delta airlines said they would take us...thank you Delta...best airline ever...I had to take up 3 seats but only charged us for 2...hers and I. Then it was a month and a half of not moving from my recliner...pissing in bottles and having to hand wash myself...it was hell. I used a wheelchair for a month after then started walking with braces.....was off work not getting paid for 3 months. Dr. said he had never seen someone tear both at the same time. All I did was jump off a 10' high wall into the water. As soon as I pushed off it tore....than 15 minutes later when 3 guys helped me walk up a flight of stairs to the car, and the other one tore pushing off with my good leg.

I had the most insane 2018 ever which actually surprise ended with my dad dying and I feel like ever since that year I'm indestructible. My level of resilience is sky high because nothing can ever be worse than that. Looking back on things like that its easy to frame them as blessings in disguise. Any tragedy going forward is going to be dampened. Pushing one's limits earlier in life like this is a good thing. It sucks... but it's a good thing eventually.
