Joshua 23-24 - Skip Heitzig

At the end of Joshua's life, he had a final commission for the children of Israel. After recounting what God had done for them, he challenged them to continue serving the Lord. As we conclude our study in the book of Joshua, we learn the importance of obeying God's instruction.

Thanks Pastor Skip - I’m “advanced in years” myself and the only book I really focus on today is the Bible itself. I’ve come to realize that it is the only truly authoritative book in the world - the holy inerrant Word of God. As you explained, the fundamental problem is that so many have turned to other gods. In the case of the atheist, he/she makes himself/herself their own god. Everybody is “religious” whether they know it or not. As the end of this life approaches it becomes increasingly clear that the only words that really matter are the words in this book. As Paul said, if Christ is not risen then our faith is in vain. But by the power of God, Christ is risen and because He lives, we will live also. Once we our touched by His fingers our IQ will instantly jump by 3 million percent and we will know as we are known. To the unbeliever I would challenge you to read the Gospel of John and ask yourself what human mind could have conceived of the words in red. It’s clear that the words in red attributed to Christ are from the mind of God Himself. Jesus was God clothed in human flesh. I consider the 25 words of John 3:16 alone to be of more value to the human race than all human knowledge. Because they are the words of eternal life - God’s shining diamond of truth. Pastor Skip - you hit the nail on the head when you said “as the family goes, so goes the nation” - thanks again for expounding His word!
