I was raised in churches that taught on topics. I even went to Bible colleges that taught like that. Sometimes it breaks my heart to think of the years I spent not understanding "the balance" you speak of. I once heard a decent teacher speaks on topics but a great teacher teaches scripture passages. Thank you for what you do! Praying for you, your church and your online worldwide ministry.

depends on whether or not it's a Biblical topic. I've found topics to be incredibly helpful in my walk with Christ. In fact, the first topic I learned about from someone who became like a mentor to me was "Who I am in Christ". Plus, what does "born-again" mean? What did Christ accomplish on the cross that effects the "new" me? These are discipleship topics! How do you know God's voice from the devil's voice? What ability has the Holy Spirit given me to help me avoid sin? This is stuff whole congregations never learn unless the church offers a class on it. Not things typically taught from the pulpit. It's fine to be proud of going book by book and chapter by chapter and verse by verse. But you can't just tell Bible stories. You have to exegete why and how those stories are relevant to each believer today. What do the accounts tell us about who God is? But it doesn't always get delivered in such a fashion.

Whoa! I learned something today. I lived in a Christian women's home through Victory Outreach about seven years ago. They taught that God had granted us the power and authority to rebuke Satan and demons in the name of Jesus. I'll admit that I did this quite a few times and thought that the Holy Spirit was guiding me. They gave us the impression that by using the name of Jesus, these demons would flee. So, your teaching hit home for me. I am grateful that you always teach the Word of God rather than your thoughts and viewpoints. I appreciate you, Pastor Paul. I have learned so much since I came across your channel. Thank you, Lord, for the scriptures.🙏

Pastor Paul. I Praise God n thank God for using you to bless so many Christians with your sermons. I have learnt a lot from your sermons. I have been a Christian for over 30 years now n always find reading the bible so difficult to understand . Even though I attend our church cell group Bible study n listen to Sunday sermons but I don’t learn much. I have no problems with praying. So grateful to God for leading to listen to your sermons. I encourage my daughter n her husband to listen also and they also find your sermon good. Thank you. Hope you will not remove any of your sermons from KZbin because I want to listen to all your expositions on the whole Bible please

Blessings to you Pastor Paul! We draw on or Faith to contend for The Truth with the Grace God has given us. This requires actions, whether more interactive or spending time in prayer and meditation communing with Our Lord. As you just said - "We Do". We carry out (perform works) to demonstrate our love and faith to Our Lord and to be an example to others- a living sermon; often more effective than sitting thru a sermon. IMO.

I always struggle, because I see these scoffers and then I feel very judgemental.. We can be so different in our growth and I am afraid that I am judging wrong? Anyone understand this?
@wechildrenofthepromise7561 Жыл бұрын
I must confess that I do have to repent about those thoughts often. My opinion is that some Christians actually read and study their Bible. Others only attend church events so they haven’t yet been able to catch and repent for the pride and the idolatry in their hearts so it just comes out of their mouths and in their motives. But we must be careful to check our hearts before we speak and take the log out before we even think that we could help to approach the scoffers. I totally understand the judgmental thoughts but it’s really not our judgement, it’s the Lord’s. Remember Proverbs 9:8 Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you.

The bible says in Ephesians 2:8-10 that we are saved by grace through faith…….. verse 10 says that we are saved UNTO good works. Now, in the end, we will not be eternally saved unless we practice doing what Jesus Himself said in Matthew 7:12-28. and what James says in chapter 1:27. So, we are not saved by works, but we are saved so that we can produce the fruit of righteousness in union with VINE John 15:1-10

Why did the pastor not put in a few words of prayer for the persecuted church around the world instead of restricting his prayer of petition for protection only to the super conformable, prosperous church of the west? Anyhow, we appreciate the teaching of the word of God

a proud heart hates correction. they will say that the person that God sends to correct is unloving and unkind…. And say: “How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised correction!” and a proud heart is easily offended Jesus was God, but He made himself of no reputation. He did not care what others thought about Him, or what they said about Him.
