The word Easter is a German derived word for risen. I still do not understand the colored boiled eggs. But they sure taste good 🐣

The eggs come from the Jewish Passover celebration. They (Jews) have a hard boiled egg on their seder plate. It has nothing to do with Ishtar or fertility. Hiding the easter eggs is also taken from the Passover seder where some matzah is hidden and a child is sent to find it.
