Didn’t touch a golf club until he was 23, and said he whiffed the ball many times starting out. In less than 20 years, he went on to win The Players Championship, and was the winningest player on tour from 82-85. Arguably the greatest success story in all of golf. Anyone who feels like giving up should know about Calvin Peete⛳️

My husband cried when you died... He always wished he could have you as a teacher... He loved you and I now see why... He saw your leadership and he knew you were a great man. ❤️

Accurate, yes. But you don't win 12 PGA tour events without being a very, very good putter. RIP Calvin, you will never be forgotten.

The confidence from his caddie at 2:09 is stunning to watch. Just leaning on the flag like: My dude is definitely going to make this putt and be a certified legend. Fantastic

i was fortunate to see him a couple times in the 80s play, he had a wonderful relaxed smooth swing, and hit the ball dead straight

He's responsible for my swing after many years. Notice how he's a similar version of how Furyk swings his inside to out - less dramatic easier for amateurs to practically replicate though. Swing like that and you'll develop a nice draw every time. Been shooting consistently for many years in the low eighties because of you! Thanks,Calvin!

Calvin's right hand takes control halfway through his backswing. It really shows when he keys the downswing at 5:12 by flattening the right hand...taking full control with it - rarely, if ever, talked about in cookie cutter instruction.

@bobscottjnr Ball position is very important, all the great golfers will tell you the same thing, if you set yourself up correctly at address you can just swing without many compensations.

So he led the PGA in driving accuracy by not playing fades and draws off the tee ? You’d never see that now . The greats just made it simple
@georgesmith46399 жыл бұрын
That de-cocking wrist roll at around 5:10 and subsequent bowed left wrist at impact looks just like Hogan. No wonder Peete was so straight. I don't think I've ever seen someone come that close to duplicating Hogan's wrist action through the bottom of the swing.
@SurprizedDaily2 жыл бұрын
Moe Norman....he'd have led the driving accuracy stats had the PGA not been so discriminating and hard on him as they were when he was in his prime and invited to the Masters....they didn't knick-name him, "pipeline moe" for nothing!
