Hey Calvin. I wanted to thank you for this video and your Watercolor kit for Procreate on my iPad Pro. I followed this video, in split screen, on the left and Procreate on the right. I worked great! Your/my art has become a birthday card for my son Thanks again. Peace…Aria

Just awesome!! My wife has been learning and creating watercolor paintings. However, I’m definitely a digital user. I’ve had Procreate since 2013, with my first iPad. Finally, I purchased an awesome, yet very expensive, iPad Pro, with the Apple Pencil, last year. I just bought your 5x Watercolor brush and textured canvas kit. The combination of the iPad, Procreate, and your watercolor kit, is just fantastic. So much fun! And portable. Like my keyboard and Mainstage/Logic, I can play almost anywhere. Art too! Very cool! Peace…Aria

wow thank you so much and congratulations on the iPad!! I think we sort of categorize iPads like they're the latest iPhone or something really 'Extra'...This can be true in some cases...but, for artists, I think Procreate/Apple Pencil is a transformative tool that certainly changed my art and made me actually create stuff I'm proud of. I'm so grateful we have these tools like Procreate/Apple Pencil and Logic Pro to express ourselves so conveniently.

This is such a great channel. I spent like three days looking at different watercolor brush packs and watching the different tutorials available to learn how to use them before I decided which one to get. Your online teaching style is fantastic. You actually give super clear directions, tell which brush and at what size, etc. I really appreciate how you get straight to the tutorial and go step-by-step. I’ve been teaching elementary students for 15 years and helped train and hire teachers so I don’t tell somebody they are a fantastic teacher lightly. Thank you so much for all the time you put into these tutorials. I’m actually working on illustrating easy readers for my students and just learning Procreate in the process. I bought all your brushes on Etsy. I’ve done three of your tutorials tonight and I actually understand how to use the selection tool properly. The adjusting of the hue, saturation, and brightness was mind blowing. Like, such a huge time saver. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your support and kind message! I really enjoy creating these videos and really try to focus on making them clear and directly to the point. I'm truly glad to hear that you appreciate the style. It's very encouraging for me. If you have the time, I would love to hear any advice on how to further improve the videos. This is my passion and your experienced input would really help me create even better tutorials.

@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 , I plan on going through and trying lots of the tutorials so I will comment if I think of anything. The fact that you tell the brush size, mention the opacity and which brush you are using is huge. I tend to pause after you make the selection before you feather it so I can see the whole shape of the selection. So far your hand is never in the way of that so I don’t know if that is a conscious decision or not but it helps. I really like how you have the little sheet with the brushes and their descriptions included in the main brush pack as well. You might mention changing your you tube settings to HD if you have it in your notes on the video. After I watched the one with the different paper types I changed to HD and couldn’t believe the difference. I’m a total newbie so probably most people know that but, for me it was a huge deal to see so much more detail. Thanks again for all your hard work!

Im a watercolor artist that has always wanted to do it on the go on my iPad. It wasn’t until I found your videos and brushes that I was able to make that happen. I just didn’t know how to make procreate do what I wanted it to do in real life. Love your videos. Keep up the outstanding work you do.

Just bought your brushes! I've been toying with the idea of converting my old travel journal into a visual diary and I really wanted to do it with a water color theme and your tutorials will really make that dream come true. Thank you Calvin! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go watch all your tutorials.

Hi! Ty so much! I have an iPad Pro - it's ok if you buy the old iPad, they are the same as long is it says 'Pro'. I do not recommend the old 12.9" iPad - the 9.5" is better. For the new iPad Pro, any sizes are fine. If you are buying an older, used iPad, the 12.9" models are much more likely to have touch screen problems. I don't know why, though.
@janlaube66154 жыл бұрын
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 thanks, what about the new iPad air, seems like that could be sufficient for a procreate beginner? Features 2nd Gen pen.

Did you use textured paper to print or ur paper texture print through it? Thank u so much for ur awesome video.
@calvinatdrifterstudio84384 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, it's my pleasure 😊 I love to make these videos for you. I usually set up the artwork so it's on a pure white background, then I save it as a jpeg and print it. The paper I use is just regular cheap cardstock. The laser printer doesn't require any special paper. I like this cardstock because it's slightly warm colored. I find that the watercolor prints really well on a laser printer. The problem is that my laser printer struggles to do super light colors, so the paper texture on the white background doesn't show up very well. That's why I switch off that option :)

I don’t understand how to copy and paste if I have multiple layers. I followed exactly and it doesn’t save a clean copy. Even on the video your layers seem to have disappeared. I have the square but only one layer copy and pasted.nvm I missed the “merge layers”😂
