This is the impression I got of Calvinists growing up as a Lutheran. 😂 Granted, it says something about Calvinists, Lutherans, or both that that’s the impression I got of Calvinists even when I used to hold to unconditional election (I lean toward a Scholastic Lutheran soteriology these days-neither Arminian nor Calvinist; loci IX through XX of Johann Gerhard’s monumental Loci Communes are worth the read for anyone who’s got the time to read 5 1/2 volumes of Scholastic Lutheran theology; the TLDR can be found in Gerhard’s Divines Aphorisms as translated by the 17th century Anglican Ralph Winterton in the 1630s when tensions between the Calvinist Puritans and Arminian Laudians were mounting).

Based on the textus receptus are the KJV & NKJV. I prefer the NKJV. Modern translations use flawed manuscripts. Compare 1 Peter 2:2 where the “word” is literally dropped from the text. This is a complex issue and can’t be solved in a short comment.

All I see is two protestant groups who have never read the Catechism of the Catholic church arguing over a basic matter of the faith that was settled long ago by the Catholic church.

Settled matters like that truth regarding homosexuality yet Catholic church has FS gay blessings, like the Settled truth (in former days that capitol punishment is permitted (now the Catholic Catechism says no). Like that Christians worship and adore the one true God CCC 841 claims Muslims adore God with Christians ipso facto false because Jesus is God the second person of the trinity whom Muslims reject as God and Savior claiming he only a prophet.

By the way to this day the controversy is not officially settled in the Catholic church...calvinist vs arminian is essentially the same of whats called the Jesuit/Dominican controversy on grace which lasted until atleast 1607 ultimately with the decision to let both views coexist without condemning each other (even though the controversy went on for decades and Molina had been "condemned" the jesuits and other influences ultimately were able to defend him and he was not condemned by 1607).
