James is referring to justification in the sight of man. Not justification before God. We are saved by faith alone. Why would Jesus say to the thief on the cross, "you will be with me in paradise"? Could he unnail himself and go do some works? No, he repented and realized that he was a sinner, and in that moment before he died, he was saved.

God desires that none shall perish - except those He predetermined would not be saved as per Calvinistic doctrine. Utterly ridiculous. Calvinism is another Gospel and anybody bringing any other Gospel is accursed (anathema). That would mean that John MacArthur, Paul Washer, John Piper and a whole host of other celebrity pastors are accursed. This is too much for some to accept; even those who fight against Calvinism. They would rather water down the seriousness of God's word. Instead of it being another Gospel, they will say that their opponents believe the one true Gospel but have gone astray in trying to understand and communicate it. The one true Gospel is so incredibly simple that a child can understand it and an unchurched, Biblically ignorant person can understand it. That was me. There are saved individuals who have since been caught up in Calvinism but it will never sit right with them because the Holy Spirit will not allow them to accept it - at least not to the point of damnation because God cannot deny Himself and His promise of eternal life is just that. Woe to those that lead millions astray, that shipwreck, that steal crowns, that cause little ones to stumble. Woe to those that make vast amounts of money in the process, making merchandise of God's people. How many books have this lot mentioned here written?

See, im not a Calvinist, because you're right about what Calvin said about "real faith", dead faith is when you don't abide in the Word and are useless for good works that God prepared for us that we should walk in them.... God chooses us, that is why you believe I'm a Calvinist. I also disagree with your quote of predestination from a Calvinist. You really need to figure out young man that if we do not abide in Him it sorely affects our lives and others in the body. Why can't you get your head around the fact that even Jesus said that some don't belong to Him but He will never lose one. God gives eternal life through grace alone, and there is other salvation in the Bible. We are only "saved" from consequences and chastisement if we walk after the Spirit, but, if we walk after the flesh we do not please God. Wanting to please God because you've grown to love Him is not works . Grace to you and may God put a bit of meat in your milk.

Amen Brother. Mattthew 7:15. The ones that preach Calvinism are the wolves in sheep's clothing. As Jesus told the Pharisees, you won't enter in by faith and you will not let others in either. And Matthew 7:21-23 Which they twist/wrest the scriptures to their own destruction. Second Peter 3:16-18. They deny Christ and trust in their works. It is all about what they have done instead of what Jesus did for us. Romans 11:6. Romans 4:5. Romans 3:26-28. Romans 5:19-21. John 3:18. Calvinist do not believe John 3:16, 1st Timothy 2:4. Second Peter 3:9, First John 2:2, or Romans 1:16. They hate GRACE. It gives them nothing to boast in. Romans 3:26-28. Galatians 2:21. I do not pervert the GRACE of God, for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ died for nothing. Romans 4:6.
