Genuine question here not a troll: How do we square this with epistle of James “faith without works is dead” and the parable where many come to Jesus in the day of judgement having done many things in his name but are turned away? Unlike JS, I won't broadbrush judge every under-discipled believer as unsaved without inquiry of what they actually believe... that said, Calvinistic "Sovereign Grace" does not happen anywhere in scripture. Not even Paul was overcome with some "Irresistible coercion". Study his conversion carefully, his struggle with his flesh in Romans 7, and his admission in Acts 26:19. God does not only love "some" in a Salvific sense as John Calvin-ism teaches. It is narcissistic & cult-like to teach: Matthew 11:28, John 1:7, 1:9, 1:29, 3:16-18, 12:32, 12:47, Acts 17:30-31, Romans 5:18, 10:11-13, 11:32, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, 1 Timothy 2:3-6, Titus 2:11, Hebrews 2:9 (there are more like those) are for/to some special favored pre-selected elect few & no one else... when zero disclaimers are given preventing forbidding restricting anyone from calling upon Jesus in those passages. God sending His Son to only redeem a pre-chosen few (yes, Augustine-Calvin taught few repeatedly) gives 👿 more souls after his hoodwink-bamboozle in the Garden...thus, 👿 ruse in the Garden was successful with most of humanity. This is why ex-Calvinists call it cult-like indoctrination that got them believing this flattering appeal to the flesh of them being a "Chosen one".

@legalismrecovery Calvinist doctrines are not identical to what the Bible teaches. There is a world of difference between Calvinistic "predestination " versus true Biblical predestination. True Biblical predestination teaches that saved Christians are predestinated for 3 things AFTER they are saved: 1) To be conformed to the image of Christ. 2) To be predestinated for an inheritance in heaven and 3) To be transformed into glorious eternal bodies at the Rapture - 1 Cor 15:51-52, 1 Thess 4:16-17, 1 John 3:2, Philippians 3:21. Calvinism, on the other hand falsely teaches that every human being has been "predestined" for either heaven or hell BEFORE anyone was ever born and that man has no free will over his eternal destiny and that he cannot do anything to change it no matter what. In other words, there is the "good luck" list for the few "chosen ones" and then there's the "tough luck" list for all the damned.

@@jacksmack77 This is accomplished by building relationship and taking time for discipleship. I know a Calvinist who gives out big million dollar gospels tracks. He is a Comforter.. You know Jack, I always want to discuss the faith and find comfort in all the characters in both the Old and New Testaments. So many people don’t even want to hear or discuss the topic of faith in Christ. I guess if Jesus in the flesh standing in front of the Pharisees and the Sadducees telling them that they did not even know or believe Moses, because, if they did, they would have believed in Him. The Messiah of Israel. I guess some will always be unwilling to accept the gift of salvation given to us by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. In TULIP theology you are a robot, there is no free will, God orders you to sin when you sin. Consider: In referencing both Eph 1 and Gen 20, Dr. Zachariades says: “God works all things according to the council of His will. Even keeping the kings who want to commit adultery from committing so. AND WHEN WE WANTS TO HE ORDERS THOSE TO COMMIT ADULTERY WHEN HE WANTS TO!” I put the second sentence in all caps because Dr. Zachariades shouted it at the top of his lungs. Clearly, in his mind, the volume at which you state something is equal to how true it is. Jesus died for all sins. If you trust in Christ alone you will be saved. Even if you were tossed to and fro from every wind of doctrine if you understand what Jesus did for you, you can be saved. Even if you understand or acknowledge humanities depravity, and the need for divine intervention, that does not mean you have to backload like a Calvinist. But that being said, white I do agree that most Calvinist deny the gospel, that doesn’t mean that believing in the idea or concept of faith being a gift from God‘s sovereignty = being unsaved. You’re probably gonna reply, saying I’m unsaved but whatever.

@william-q6y The thief on the cross in Luke 23:42-43 may not have had conscious knowledge of the Trinity Godhead, but he was certainly convinced that Jesus is the Savior where he simply believed on Christ and got saved right then and there for all eternity. The same is true of the blind man whom Jesus healed in John 9:1-6. The blind man who was healed simply BELIEVED and got saved right then and there - John 9:35-38.

We can all respectfully disagree, there is no need to condemn other believers to hell. Generally, Calvinists believe the Gospel and have faith just like other Christians. The reason Calvinism is so unpopular is not because it is heretical, but because it requires you to lay down your pride, and accept that you do nothing for your salvation. Also, if it weren't for guys like Luther and Calvin, we wouldn't have the types of churches in America that we do. Our faith is “the gift of God”, and “not our own doing”, “so that no one may boast” [Eph. 2:8-9]. This is because we were “dead in ours sins” [Eph. 2:1] and we had to be “born again” [John 3:3]. Tell me, does a baby born in the flesh have the free-will to consent to being born? Of course not, the parents have authority over the child. Likewise, our Father in heaven begets us by his choosing, through the Holy Spirit [Jas. 1:18] without our cooperation. This is what Calvinists believe, and it is a plausible view.

@jacksmack77 Yet Paul bookends Romans with the obedience of faith. It is believing in Jesus as the Messiah bringing the word of God that is taught in John, as 1 Corinthians 3:11, the foundation that is laid by Jesus as Christ or Messiah, and those believers shall have eternal life if they understand John 3:5 and 3:13. It is trust in the word of God, not the DBR for salvation, the Cross is important not as an altar but Jesus sacrificed his life for us in a certain set of circumstances that make him our judge.

@colonalklink14 An already saved person has only been baptised, saved from the condemnation of Adam and past sins, salvation comes from judgement. Romans 5-8 is baptism into the church, and Ephesians 2:8 is only confirmation of baptism of the Spirit by the Father, as you will find in my latest video 'Ephesians 2:9. Poor logic. James says that faith without works is dead. A tree is identified by its fruit. A bad tree cannot produce good fruit. Faith is a gift. See Ephesians 2:8-9. Ephesians 2:1, you were dead in your sins. Dead men don’t choose anything. You are completely misunderstanding or misrepresenting Calvinism. Jesus’s message was to repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. You are also underestimating the impact of sin, as if it were something trivial that is easily avoided. Please expound on Acts 13:48 and Proverbs 16:4. I also caution against the arrogance of determining who is saved. That is the job of the Holy Spirit.
