“He won’t give me the only thing I ever really wanted from him. I want him to love me” One of the most tragic lines in the show. A son should never have to ask to be loved by their father or mother. If they ever ask that then they have failed as parents Most of the time the best kind of villain is shaped by tragedy

Smallville is a show that I absolutely love. It brings back to mind so many what if and just maybes. Even knowing how the story will end up becoming between these two, there was always the tiny bit of hope that just somehow Lex could find out or be told and everything would be right. So intimate between the two of them aside, do you usually don’t get when most stories jump right into when they’re full-blown rivals. They would team up together unstoppable pair. Great video man.

Lex becoming a villain shouldn’t really be a surprise, when your family and even your friend lies to you all your life. Carrying the burden of seeing your mum X’d your brother and being blamed for it.
@mcnoneya4 ай бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. I think he was the best portrayal of Lex because you could really see the nuances and the growth of why he ended up despising Clark, the one person you saw as a good, caring and honest person willing to help anyone in need, lies to you, just like every other person in your life, then like he says often he has a thirst for knowledge, and when he can’t prove what his guy is telling him is true, it essentially drives him to darkness, by season 5( I just started) at least imo, the premiere you can see the final threads of true friendship slip away, then it becomes more like frenemies and I’m guessing eventually true enemies.

Haven’t watched the video yet- it’s 2am. But I will say in the season 5 premiere it really looks like any kinship the 2 had, had finally been stripped away. He slowly over the 4 seasons became just like his father, human experiments in the name of “helping” people, when really he was just trying to quench his thirst for knowledge. I mean he literally tortured Arthur curry. In the beginning he was so wholesome and had good intentions and then that darkness slowly took over,

@@CalvinJamesthe only way Lex could have become good was if he let go of his need for control, which Lex will never do because Lex has convinced himself he's the hero of the story and everyone else is the bad guy for 'betraying' him. I think people put the blame of Lex’s choices on Clark too much. Lex wasn’t entitled to his secret. He’s constantly showing exactly why he can’t be trusted. Throughout the series Lex repeatedly is given scenarios to do the right thing and does the opposite. Look at how jealous Lex was on Clark’s regular life of having a loving family, Lana etc. do people really think he’d of been able to cope with knowing the power Clark has, something which is ultimately revealed to be all he wants.
