It was a pleasure Calvin and Jerome! It's definitely not the responsible decision - I lost a bit of money on the TTS, I spent a bit of money on the S4 - but the heart wants what the heart wants 😅The reason i took the day to decide is because my dad told me to keep the TTS and buy a cheap run around to put miles on, and that's completely the smart move, but ya know 🤷‍♀ I saw the TTS go for £17k within a couple of weeks, and that's just business! I fumbled a bit on camera, but the new job is a sales role and will involve a lot of UK and EU travel, so the TTS juuust didn't fit the needs. It's the start of a big career, so I want to start it right. I may also be carting around colleagues which the TTS wouldn't do unless they were under 5ft 😳

Not a wise decision, taking a £6k hit to buy a 2020 S4 (probs at ~£4k over market value). The fuel savings vs the TTS will be wiped out by higher depreciation, and then some.

5 owners, dirty so cant tell full condition, still a hard car to sell especially this time of year, the mileage discrepancy would throw alot of people off regardless of evidence etc, the dealership has to prep the car, car could potentially have a waterpump leak which would have to be repaired under warranty. All of these things combined means the offer was fair. Haven’t even considered the business overheads

Be amazed if the waterpump wasnt leaking slowly given age/mileage. They are a very common problem on ea888 engine and not far off a grand to fix 😐

Rusty bolts and fasteners are usually a sign of a car spending its life on the coast near the sea due to the salt air. I once bought a car from near the coast in Scotland, the paintwork was immaculate but every nut, bolt and fastener on the car was rusty😕

The look on his face when Calvin told him the trade in price. Car prices have been all over the place, but he overpaid. Especially with a patchy history. I would garage it and keep it in nice condition. Then, maybe in the future, values will rise when it's more rare. Buy a cheap trade-in with a three month warranty while you see if you can handle the commute. £6000 loss is too much.

All he had to do is use (Efficiency!) Efficiency - A mode designed to optimize fuel or electricity consumption and maximize mileage. Throttle, transmission, differentials, adaptive cruise control and even climate control parameters can be managed to reduce mechanical resistance and improve efficiency. I use it and call it “granny mode!” but it gets me where I want to go! Saving money and saving fuel.

CAL did you manage to get the mileage discrepancy sorted, i have same issue, my car went to Audi for MOT the tester put the wrong mileage down, the car failed and when it was retested the same day he put the correct mileage in, the mileage was out by 2k, Audi said there was nothing they could do to correct it but it was logged on their system, no good to me it still shows as a discrepancy on Total Car Check, appreciate any help. I always get my cars valet and washed they sell faster and put £20 fuel in them for the new buyer because some many people have them in the red and I have ran out of fuel couple of time because it’s been that low on fuel your a top lad Calvin for trying to get the best price for him I would of been happy with the £14,000 as cars are up and down

Hi mate my partners friends daughter is looking at a 2012 177,000km yes it's in Spain 2.0 TT standard model hardtop manual for 14,000 euros I've looked on auto trader for comparable vehicles in pounds and she's been rinsed in my opinion however have you any ideas on vehicles on the continent from contacts to see what she could get for 14,000 euros on a TT? Depends on the miles and condition. Shit high mileage tts start at 13k at a dealer. So nice one with low miles at a dealer 18.5k - 22k is about where market is at on these. Great cars for the money. Very good car. Quick and handles well and looks easy on the eye. Classic design ages really well.

My theory for the rusty bolts is that the engine could have been jetwashed and the degreaser used has attacked the bolts. Just my opinion 🤷

Love your channel, content etc, the seller seemed a nice genuine bloke and you would not budge on price while in the car, but with more laddie type sellers you seem to ofter go up straight away?. Diesel S4’s aren’t Bi-Turbo like the previous A6/7 tdi’s. And 50mpg is ambition 😂 my long term over 8k is 36mpg. The diesel economy aspect is deceiving especially compared to BMW’s equivalent engine claimed mpg. But still better than the previous petrol 3.0.

You offered him a good price! I've got a Transporter I want to sell soon because I want to get into a v class. It's a WAV, but has a manual ramp (so can easily be taken out) and 6 passenger seats. 66 plate with only 48k on the clock and is one owner from new. It's automatic too. It's lovely, but every time the boot or the door closes, my son gets startled and scared, so the electric tailgate and doors in the v class would help him so much.
