In the eastern USA, you could drive in 12 eastern states on 1 tank of fuel in a diesel or hybrid car if a range of about the same 550 miles. (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia). I do believe with a slightly newer diesel VW version of your model and some hyperlinking, records of about 1,600 miles have been done on 1 factory tank of diesel in Europe and the USA.

Another amazing pub idea turned KZbin video - loved it! Maybe.... 570 miles in the tank divided by 117 miles (length of the M25) = 4.87 laps... which means Jack has to modify Ethan's Skoda to be economical enough to complete 5 laps!

Great choice of car for this! In 2023 I did a roadtrip in 1000€ cars with two friends, one of them bought a similar VW Passat 1.9 TDI - it barely used 5l/100 km and had such a big tank that it could easily do over 1000 km without filling up. Meanwhile my thirsty Volvo V40 and my other friend's small Fiat needed at least twice as many stops, whereas the Passat outright skipped refueling in several countries in a row 😂

Looking at distances, the shortest way to get to Liechtenstein and across the border to Austria (Feldkirch?) would be another 130km/80 miles - too far if they had only another 45-50 miles max. I think it's only possible if the stop to Aardenburg is omitted - and you skip Bruges but go through Lille / Mons. 8 countries & 970 km / 600 miles.

Me and a friend went for a road trip in a 2014 Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDi. We drove from London to Germany on the same tank of diesel before the first *_"you know what?? We should really THINK ABOUT FILLING UP"_* was even uttered. It was so long ago that I cant remember the actual milage but we had done at least 600-700miles before we filled up. We could have gotten another 200miles out of it before filling up I reckon but we didnt want to take the chance and get left stranded. We had that thing red lining down the autobahn at one point. We were drafting a car in front and we hit the limiter on the Octavia. The car just couldnt go any faster than 180-190km/h. The car we were drafting just kept pulling away and left us in the dust which was absolutely mental 😅😅 It was a rental car though so we didnt absolutely rag the shit out of it on the autobahn. We pushed the car to its limit once or twice for fun then the rest was about getting from A to B in a respectable time.

I had a 2004 1.9dci laguna estate, and if you kept to 70mph on thf motoway you could get 1100 miles out of that tank. Toured all over europ in that and you could fit a double air bed in the back off it for emergency digs. Crate of beer and a disposable bbq is all you needed. 65mpg motorway miles and a 75litre tank, 77 if you brim it. Thats north wales to Nice on one tank. Given ive got a heavy foot i never got Nice in one tank. But i know it was definitely possible if i would have tried. It used to sip juice on a long run. This is how i dont get that the 3004-15 era diesels arnt as clean as the 1 litre 3 cylinders that get about 27mpg on thr motorway. And less round town as you're always ringing them out. A 2l diesel hardly needs to ever break a sweat. You could drive that car from a stand still into 5th gear without needing to tough the accelerator. We may all love v12, 10, 8 etc... but we peaked with the 2l diesel form around 04-diesel-gate. From thr same engine, you could get a 110bhp eco box, still with plenty of torque, or all the way to silly rolling coal numbers.

I did 4 going on holiday. I got from Portsmouth to Port Zelande Center Parcs in the Netherlands and back on 1 tank of diesel in my 2019 Kia proceed. That was with 2 adults, 2 kids and a boot crammed with stuff and doing 80-90 on the motorway through France & Belgium. The Netherlands was mostly single carriageway at 50 mph with a million roundabouts to navigate (they love a roundabout more than us brits o swear) which would've helped fuel economy.

We just maintain speed on the roundabouts when its dead on the roads haha. You can drive straight over most ones, except the double or triple lane roundabouts

I would quite like to see Ethan sort the windows out, loved the car content to be fair, bit of a throwback, keep up the great work 👌
