Cam spoke as a true offensive player here… in defense, if you’re walking somebody down, how do I now tackle from behind?? How do you get a bigger man down??? Every rule change has happened for the player with ball in hand, but defense gets hurt too. Next they gone say no tackling below the waste, because of increase knee injury watch.

Me Cordell buckhalter, Brandon McDonald, mark mclaurin,Billy Hamilton, Al Jefferson Steve McNair all in the same area all we did was play tackle football,buy horse,race cars in that area

I’m a defensive guy myself that is a lot of weight coming down, but me personally I think they didn’t see enough offense, I wonder what offensive player gonna be the next trend setter because the defensive player can only arm tackle now

Then they should eliminate targeting penalties from the game because at this point the only way to stop somebody is to somehow be more blessed than the professional across from you at all times which is simply unrealistic… the defense has no weapons at their disposal anymore💯🤧👌🏾

Two things can be true. Not dismissing your point. But we cant act as if this doesn't give the league more ways to manipulate the outcomes of games and scores. That has to be taken into consideration especially when the sports gambling is higher than its ever been. Just sayin

Fundamentals... Does this mean that coaches and players will understand it or will they say " we teach and practice Fundamentals " but come week 4 there will be some unfortunate player to suffer from this. I understand why it's banned and why people don't like it but it's essentially for the long term health of the league

I’m usually with u Cam but let’s talk about how the offensive player was suppose to stop dropping their head and hitting defenders with the crown of their helmet but that never gets called.

I don’t agree with Cam at all. Most of the guys who use the hip drop are trying to bring down bigger guys. This new rule will only lead to more points being scored.

That's right, its a lazy tackle. I never tackled anyone like that. I was taught to hit, wrap & drive 💪🏼 head up, hit from thigh to shoulder as your target & head to the side of the ball carrier..

How is this a great move by the NFL they do everything in their power to increase offense but when it comes to defense where is the advantages you literally can’t do anything as a defender now if someone slips pass the coverage just stop running if you grab the shoulders from behind they’re going to call a horse collar so now if you grab the body and pull them down to ground to complete the tackle it’s going to be a flag too so now your only resort to tackling a strong runner from behind is by the legs and that’s going to literally be impossible it’s easier to grab someone’s body than it is too grab their legs juking or going full speed strong runners and agile runners are going to feast we’re literally about to see our first 2000-3000yd run games

Cam explained everything in a fair way and I believe he loves it because he extremely got no protection as a QB he rarely ever had flags thrown for him when hit and all them illegal hits eventually derailed his career trajectory

@@roszell12 it’s simple some of these guys really can’t tackle!!! And that’s a fact !! Also you don’t have to grab the hip and pull down if you wrap up the legs which ever angle you tackle from !!! Ain’t no way you’ve been playing football since a child and don’t know the fundamentals! Put your shoulder in his hip , wrap up and drive ! You can’t show me one drop hip tackle from the late 90’s early 2000’s because they weren’t afraid to tackle “business decisions”

Well if you aren't taught in peewee fundamentals then why would you know? We all know for a fact that plenty of coaches when they find those talented boys, let me them get away with anything, and dont try teaching anything if it means keeping them on there team and elevating there status through either wins or hey I taught that future nfl player. Lazy coaches breed lazy players.
