I was only a kid back in 1997 and I remember how *BIG* Ma$e was, I didn't even know who Cam was then, I mean you couldn't go anywhere without hearing a Ma$e song on the radio, hell, I remember even at a friend's birthday party when they played a Ma$e song, ALL the kids went crazy and rushed to the dance floor. I think Ma$e deserves a LOT more credit for his role in Bad boy at the time because people seem to have an issue with him being a Pastor and returning back to rap but from 96 to 99 Mase WAS that dude.

Cam 1 of my favs too and I hear what u sayin but i say they went back in forth as far as doin for each other (if this video is of actual facts) .... Pretty sad to see bro's split this way but its like family splits up. Cam shared clothes with Mase when they were young.. Mase helped Cam out when he had college trouble, linked him to BIG and UN.. gave him 5000$ to write one of 5 songs for 30,000$ .. Cam supposedly didnt want to pay Mase for bein on Horse and Carriage track so Mase didnt appear in the video or support Cams debut so Cam didnt pop off like they wanted. So the 2 started keepin it kinda fake. Mase got caught smashin other dudes baby moms.. calls Cam and only gives him 100$ Can u see how they started sharing less and less with each other. It was a low key power struggle as they went from poor to riches. I somehow did feel wierd when Mase retired to become a minister and said he wouldnt rap, produce or run a rap label ever again. I didnt believe that and sure enough.. he came back and would hate to admit he got thirsty. Not fully picking sides but on that 1 opinion of Cam i choose his side. Mase playin with God by comin back to rap about ngs, b*tches and violence.. That there is some bullshht and the reason the public never really took Mase back. Thas som fake shht. Cam outsmarted Mase if u ask me. He threw out dis tracks for bait.. Mase eventually took the bait and made dis tracks and talked real foul. A true Christian and Mase knows.. the bible says If someone smites u on 1 cheek, turn and let them smite u on the other cheek. Cam outsmarted Mase and kept his style and life more on the 100 side (tho none of us are perfect.

@@OG_Poe_Sweet back then you had to have a strong follow up single, and video, to keep the momentum of an album going. By the time Confessions Of Fire dropped, horse and carriage had already played out, and the only other video he dropped for the album, was the Horse & Carrige rmx w/ Charlie B, and that was way after the album released. If he could've gotten that DMX song cleared, his sales would've been great for that album run. Remember, this was the same Summer, as when 'It's Dark, And Hell Is Hot' dropped.

Man I’m form La. but I remember the Big Picture coming out and that was one of the cds I picked up at the time. I listened to that joint front to back. I was damn this dude is nice. I tried to find anything I could get my hands on by L. If he didn’t die, I truly think he would be up there with Jay and Nas.

12:18 - London check in. Everybody knew Ma$e here. Only hip hop heads knew Cam. At that time Hip hop didn't get popular play. Diddy changed that with BIG raising general interest but then PAC took it next level. Their 2 deaths & "missing you" made them household names among under 35s and Harlem World hit hard in places where hip hop wasn't known. "Feel so good" was super pop and a favourite on music tv channels. TATQ MA$E on the video with his fun unthreatening sellable approach would have made Horse & Carriage 1000 times more impactful. I didn't see the video until You Tube, we relied on mixtapes & pirate radio for the latest US stuff and that had an extremely limited reach.
