Denver here. After biggie and pac passed and before DMX, Eminem, and Jay-Z, Mase was everywhere, all over the radios, MTV, Movie soundtracks, everywhere! I heard that he used to go hard as Murder Mase but with him retiring and so many classics on the horizon I never really got to check it out. Man when I heard The Oracle I just sat in stunned silence at how hard he could go. 🔥

I’m going to be completely honest: I didn’t like the Diddy tribute at the BET awards on Sunday. It felt incomplete without seeing everyone who was once of the roster including Ma$e. From the videos, Diddy and Ma$e looked inseparable, but those days are long gone. It’s even more crazy that Ma$e has been vocal about Diddy still owing him money smh.

Ma$e is misguided: His first album [Harlem World] UNDER Diddy's instructions sold over 270,000 copies, went 4x Platinum and made $4million. His 2nd album more of Mase in control [Double Up] and with more street lyricxs sold only 107,000 copies, Gold and made only $500,000.00. Who direction do you all think was better. History tells us, Ma$e retired and came back 5 years later and under Diddy's influence it did the same numbers and was awarded the same achievements as Double Up. 5 years later! when Ma$e was no longer relevant, Diddy still made sure his album was a success. It's time we admit Diddy was RIGHT and Ma$e was WRONG!

That was a 🔥 group still on my Spotify playlist American Dream and I hav the burnt cd classic man. But Ma$e created that smooth relax cadence flow that rappers took like Fab (he still one my fav from NY) and Loon which was in same label as Mase but I think Fab had to go threw an artist development so he can master his own style but Mase did birth a lot artists during his time. I heard Gene Deal, Puff's former bodyguard say that Biggie used to laugh and make fun of Ma$e for calling himself "Murder Ma$e" because Big thought Ma$e was soft, and corny, he used to laugh in his face!! As a side note, the night Biggie was killed, Ma$e told Puff and Gene Deal that there were rumblings of a hit on Big and that they should skip the Vibe party. Puff and everybody else totally shut him down and told him no one was forcing him to go, so Ma$e didn't go to the party. Too bad they didn't listen to him

I always thought that publishing bar on Jay’s “Ride or die” was towards Nas. Because of the whole Dead Presidents Nas sample which got MC Serch Serchlite publishing paid instead of Nas
@cloutcancun
@cloutcancun 2 жыл бұрын
The reason why people say Ride Or Die was about Mase is because of lines like "check your own videos, you'll always be number two" which is probably referring to Diddy always being in the videos and in the video for the song Can't Nobody Hold Me Down Diddy is wearing a jersey with a number 1 on it while Mase is wearing number 2. Jay-Z also said the line "Ni**as talking real greasy on them R&B records" which is pretty self-explanatory of what that means in terms of being about Mase.

I was thinking that Hov was talking about Mase and Nas. He was throwing shots at Nas ever since he no showed the Reasonable Doubt sessions and him and Mase were beefing over some girl and Mase was also really full of himself back in 97 and 98, so I’d imagine he was being really extra and many rappers hated that. That’s why Ghostface Killah smacked the shit outta hun.

Diddy is talentlesss mase was the guy who’s energy and talent he was stealing like a parasite 🦠 and keeping on a lower pedestal because he wanted to benefit off him but not let him shine alone. Diddy took songs mase wrote and put it on his own album. Having that same song on mase album was a no. Tim didn’t need missy to be seen, Diddy needed big and then mase. Lets be real here. Puffy was and is shady. Lets not forget what he hinted to Fabulous on Drink Champs and what he was accused of with Usher. I can feel that Puffy wanted something sexual with Mase and when Biggie died it was Mase sacrificing another to step into the label. The secret meetings and signing ones soul away on a music contract all added up. Let alone the label exec Puffy and the Baphomet.

It’s a Biggie concert and his own daughter couldn’t get in. Lord, all I pray for is karma to hit Diddy with the same impact he had in the destruction of many innocent naïve lives. Shame on Puff
