The Red Wings have the best power player I’ve seen in the regular season, in years….. it’s so dynamic, and there’s so many weapons that can score. Our offense has gone from sterile to lethal since Todd came. Cam Talbot was dialed in tonight. Thought he kept us in the game when Florida started getting desperate in the third. Huge win, go Wings.

Talbot was INCREDIBLE!! Especially in the 3rd period. Probably Berggren's best game as a Red Wing, his defensive game was good. Johansson has really stepped up and looking better and better. Man the Power Play is deadly. Big response to the last game.
@shmurdabobby303411 күн бұрын
Crazy you said yzerman needs to be fired because he built this roster with all those names you just listed
@mjk0611 күн бұрын
@@shmurdabobby3034 Berggren wasn't a Yzerman pick for a start. Also it's still the same people producing that were producing under Lalonde in terms of goals. Compher, Ras, Motte, Fischer, Tarasenko, Holl, Petry, Husso, Chiarot are still shit and are offering very little production. Outside of the top 6 forwards, Seider, Ed and Johansson.........this roster is weak. The Power Play won't stay this hot forever either. Wings need more from said guys. Your Yzerman obsession is borderline weird.
@TrevWire11 күн бұрын
I have been looking for Berggren to get moved for nearly two seasons now, but since the coaching change and them allowing Berggren to play his style I admit I was wrong. He looks great on that left wing, and his defense has greatly improved… something I didn’t think he would ever have in his game. He’s on a one year, but in my eyes he deserves an extension. I’m also love seeing Kasper heating up! Once his confidence is up I think he will be a menace out there on both ends of the ice.
@mjk0611 күн бұрын
@@TrevWire Mickey Redmond adores Berggren ...called him one of the smartest young players in the game. I never thought his defensive game was any worse than our other forwards tbh. But I agree, he's looked a lot more complete under Todd.
@colingiles425111 күн бұрын
@@mjk06you do realize that free agency is basically a joke in the NHL, right? And you’re not walking in as a rebuild like Yzerman and getting the pick of the litter either.

We lost last game because of Husso, he's a bum and needs to go already. If prefer Cossa at this point. Thank God we have Talbot. WTG boys!!

We lost because Holl is the worst player in the NHL. Give credit where credit is due though, he responded tonight with some good moments. But yes, the difference between how they play in front of Husso vs Talbot/Lyon is eye opening
@BeardedFrog11 күн бұрын
He's not _entirely_ wrong. Husso definitely sucks. Guy consistently lets in easy saves, and rarely can be counted on to make big ones. We might have won with Talbot in goal (or at least been closer), considering if nothing else the first goal was by far the softest and the first goal is always sets the stage a bit. That said, it wasn't all on Husso. They played like a team that let their old bad habits take over for most of the game and only had occasional glimpses of the team they've been since the coaching change. We didn't deserve to win that game, so losing it was potentially better overall as a wakeup call/eye opener rather than reinforcing bad habits. Husso really needs to go though. It's not like he has any history of being good to where you could consider things "off nights" or whatever. He's never been good. Talbot is by far the most consistently good goalie we have, and Lyon (if he could stay healthy) is a solid backup who has less consistency but high overall ability. Cossa should definitely be the one we call on for a backup when Talbot or Lyon is injured. No idea why we keep favouring Husso on this.

The problem comes when the power plays cools off. R 5 on 5 is not good enough. But very happy with there play since Tood took over what ever he did keep doing it.
@bradmaguire961111 күн бұрын
How many posts and opportunities are they getting 5v5, their offensive zone opportunities are causing teams to take more penalties, they will start scoring more 5v5 if they keep playing like this, yes they got bailed out by their goalie, but you have to live with holl, and gustaffson being terrible in their own zone but if gustaffson continues to be creative offensively at least it can off set their terrible pairing until asp is ready, but holl will not be in the lineup if he continues to be weak in the defensive zone which I'm fine with because that and asp dominating his age group will force yzerman to bring up asp.
@colingiles425111 күн бұрын
Their 5v5 o-zone time has gone up significantly under McLellan. It’s also the toughest bit to overhaul as a coach.
