I sold cars in college. A customer showed up 30 minutes before closing. He was driving an old Ford pickup with bags of aluminum cans in the back and other scrap metal. We had "ups," which meant we took turns as salespeople. Nobody chose their next customer unless there was a preset appointment. This was my up, and the other salespeople started making jokes and getting their stuff to leave. Typically, someone coming in that late isn't buying, and they'll keep you there for an hour. This dude looked a mess, but shoes and watch will almost always give it away. The guy was wearing an Oyster Perpetuatual. He said he needed a car for his daughter for graduation but didn't want to go crazy. We sold Subaru, Hyundai, and Mitsubishi/Diamante. I started him at the Diamante. Diamante was Mitsubishi's Lexus. He said it was too much for his daughter, but he liked it. We settled on a Hyundai Elantra and talked finance. He told me he was paying cash, and he'd write a check. I told him I can't do a check at that hour because the banks were closed. I couldn't verify funds. Dude pulled out his AMEX and said to just run the card. I get him into finance to do the paperwork, and the manager calls me back. I'm thinking something is wrong, and he changed his mind. I go back, and the customer says he's been thinking his wife would really like that Diamante, so he's going to take the black on black Diamante, too. Just put them on the card. It was a great night for me. $6k commission in 1987 was about 4 months' salary for most people. I ended up selling him many more vehicles throughout college.

True story, this shit happened to me one time in 08 when I was involved in a head on collision with a drunk driver. The day I got my check from the lawsuit was the day I was helping my cousin work on his suspension and we were looking like 2 greaser trying to buy a brand new mitsubishi evo X and the guy told me that it's too much for me to afford. The following week I showed up to the dealer with a check for 28k for a brand new car and the same guy who attended me was the same P.O.S. who belittled me. When the time was right I told him I changed my mind and explained to him what he did the week before. Regardless of how you're supposed to get treated everybody knows that sometimes it's not the case, but when you get immediate interaction and help from the salesman and you waste his time cuz you're not purchasing anything you should take time to speak to his boss and let him know that his employee is doing his job regardless of who steps on the lot, cuz if you didn't get any assistance you're not going to waste any time at all making a video to point out how you were prejudged base on appearance or skin color so it's only right to show dude the same respect he showed you!!! I've been a salesman for 30 years and my very first sale was to an old farmer who showed up on my lot in a crappy looking busted ass small Nissan truck with a busted up camper shell dressed in dirty overalls and it was 15 degrees outside and I was the only salesman that was willing to walk out and help him with my brother's advice being "go help cuz even if he doesn't buy anything you'll get much needed experience with talking to customers"!! Real shit the man bought 5 fully loaded 4 wheel drive Chevrolet Suburban's and he paid sticker price on all of them just because I was the only one with the respect to help him looking the way he did!! Turns out he was the owner of the best ice cream and restaurant's in Oklahoma called "Braums" and all of that was awesome because I got paid very well from that sale but what meant the most is he tracked down the General Manager of the Dealership to inform him about the sale and me not hesitating to brave 15° weather to help a man who looked like he was sleeping in his old ass Nissan truck!! So please let their boss know that he did what nobody else was willing to do just like you flamed the next 3 or 4 salesman that treated you like trash!! Salesman appreciate that type of stuff because normally people start giving us a hard time as soon as we start to greet you customers

First video of yours I came across. Take the hood off and redo the video, people come off as less approachable when wearing a hood for no reason . There's a few things in this video that make a difference. The first one was a used car dealer, so their salespeople have a much different approach w/ building rapport before anything. Honestly most dealers should approach and greet ALL customers the way the first guy did. The second one was a joke, they obviously saw you, thought you were doing nothing, and decided to avoid you. Even if someone doesnt seem to be buying anything, dealers I've worked at expect you to at least greet a customer upon seeing them, especially as they begin approaching closer to the showroom/lot cars. The Porsche dealership is just different, I've noticed at the real high end dealers, there's usually a receptionist who makes initial contact, however again, this doesn't excuse them outright ignoring you while so many salespeople seemed to be without a client. I will say lastly, you didn't look to be dressed "bummy", and instead having your hood on in seemingly warm weather was a red flag. When you work almost any customer-oriented job, the last thing you want to deal with are people you don't know walking in a building with a hood on and their hands in their pockets. Regardless of what you know your intentions are, that makes others around you who don't know you paranoid or want to avoid being around you. Aside from safety concerns and back to business reasons, 9/10 people who tend to do that have a very high chance of having no/poor credit, no money to put down to secure a deal, or overall just have absolutely no intention to buy. There are a lot of things that'll get you judged in your first few seconds while car shopping, but nonetheless, no one in sales should avoid and outright ignore someone who's looking at their product. Your case being the perfect example, a lot of clients who have the most money to spend dress the most casual. Meanwhile, the "Who wants to sell me a car" flashy customers with expensive trades almost never buy 💩 in the end.

I have all the items you have on in this video in my closet I just bought 2 pair of the nike joggers for $65 a piece on sale, the RL zip up hoodie when new was $125, the "dirty" AF ones cost at least $90 that's still a $280 outfit on the low end. They gonna see you and just assume you are dressed comfortably, but have enough to get what you want. Try this again with a bunch of clothes without any brand names on them or really used items from a thrift store.

One of the builders I did work for told me the story of his, dad, an elderly guy from Trinidad that went into a dealership. He apparently made millions in business. The old guy said he wanted to buy 2 Firebirds for his kids. The salesman told him to get lost but the old guy gave him a credit card to check that out. The salesman was told that if the old guy wanted to buy the dealership he was covered for that too. I knew the builder real well for many years and he had absolutely no reason to lie to me and he didn't have to work as a builder. He did it for something to do.

If there were numerous sales men standing around talking, and yoi make your presence known and you get disrespected...you assert yourself.
