Had a 71 back in 1973, T boned by a Pontiac Boniville. 50 years later and retired, I looked for another 71 to enjoy my retirement. Nope, not paying 40K. Looking for a 4th gen. After viewing your video I’m going with a fish face. Congratulations on the best review of Camaro on the tube.

Thank you. I was 12 when the 4th gen debuted and it seemed like a spaceship. Bang for your buck how do you beat it? I know several old school muscle car guys that didn’t think much of the 4th gen until I took them for a ride. One called it a disco wagon😆. Couple minutes in the car and they completely changed their opinions. Thanks for checking out the content, the kind review and good luck finding the right Camaro😎

I drive a 2000 Trans Am, its a 6 speed and its my first ever car. I LOVE MY CAR! I LOVE THE FBODIES! They were genuinely special.

I’ve had a bunch of other cars but if it’s got 4 seats…there’s nothing like an F-body. The Trans Am of that era is an Ikonic car. Your first car, wow, take your time with it…pushrod power curves and rear wheel drive can be a handful. Thanks for checking out the channel.

@@KevinzGarage Yeah Ive never experienced anything like it either. Everyone I give a ride falls in love with it too. The car is 100% a handful, and I try to respect it for that. I want to learn how to drive it to its fullest tho, drift to drag imma try it all in this thing.

The LS1 with a chambered exhaust…it’s just a good ol fashion push rod symphony. You could solidly drive the car on sound alone😎

The end of 2001, I got to drive the first 2002 Camaro SS SLP to hit St Louis. I wanted that car so bad, but I couldn't afford it at the time. Red on black, 6-speed w/ Hurst shifter, ZR-1 wheels, dual-dual exhaust,.....its was awesome. I did later in life own a '00 WS6 Trans Am and a '98 WS6.

I had a very similar experience. Drove a 2001 Z28 new…loved it…just couldn’t make it happen, bought a ‘95 Z28 that I loved and drove for years. 20 years later found the Silver SS I always wanted and couldn’t pass it up. It’s a great car, from cruising to date night to recently I got the chance to run it in the 1/4 mile(videos on the channel). They’re great cars, I’m surprised they aren’t worth more. Thanks for checking out the content😎

A couple of minor things. SS (WU8) cars came back in 1996, and the T56 in all LS1 cars is a Tremec not a Borg-Warner (LT1 only). Also, hang onto that SS grill, they are commanding a high price point these days! Great review.

Thanks. I don’t put myself out as a professional, I am not. I just don’t see a lot of these “walk through” type reviews of these late 4th gen’s and I wanted to get it out there. This is my 3rd in 23 years and I still just love these cars! Thanks for checking out the content and sharing your knowledge😎

Nice video. The front section of metal near the hood is not called a quarter panel. It is always called a fender. Quarter panels are only in the rear. Fenders are only in the front. The sail panel issue is actually the glue bubbling up through the paint. That's why you're able to see it. However, this does not happen if the car stays out of the Sun and does not get hot on the top often. I have one that stays garaged and has no issues with that glue whatsoever. However, my other 4th Gens do. My 99 Z28 and 02 Trans am do have those issues which have stayed outside. And it was only certain years. Like 99-02 I believe. Not positive. It definitely was not on the earlier models. It was only on the later ones. My 94 Z28 never had that issue. What's really sad is the GM knew about it after the first year and did nothing. Looking forward to more 4th gen videos. Great entertainment.

Ive owned 5 camaros two being ls1's. Will not dyno 375whp at all with full bolt ons. Both my 01SS and 01Z28 would tops full bolt ons 350whp and that was on the high side sae corrected. Not trying to bash on you they just cant do 375whp full bolt ons. Otherwise this is a beautiful ls1 and very nice video very informative. These cars with a properly set up nitrous system do really really well. These cars with bmr sway bars, bilstien shocks and bmr springs with subframe connectors not low at all do excellent in handling and ride really good with a good tires.

I probably should have mentioned I’m more of an enthusiast than performance guy. I’ve tried to learn the tech stuff about what makes the engines different as time goes on…but exact modified performance numbers…I could absolutely be off…I really do appreciate you sharing your experience. Thanks for checking out the content😎

I’m a basic maintenance wrench turner…but there are videos showing the LS1 making over 500 horses with heads/cam/intake…I’m really thinking on doing it…I’m just reluctant to mess with it…will those things ruin the gas mileage and drivability?
@karpetcm
@karpetcm 22 күн бұрын
@@KevinzGarageYou might be able to get close to 500 crank horsepower meaning at the motor. It will all come down to what type of heads and how aggressive the cam is. The more you try to reach that peak 500hp the less the car will be comfortable driving on the street. It will mostly be a top end car due to the aggressive cam. You would want to install 3:90 gears with the manual 6 speed i say 3:90 since the stock rear 7.5 diff wont handle much power. The higher the gears more teeth but thinner the teeth to get them to fit in that small diff so more prone to break and going 4:10's will be definitely weaker then 3:90's but need the gears to stay in the powerband. In my day not looked at them recently with a good set of heads and cam package along with long tubes, intake and excellent tunning you can get about 420-440whp. Ive seen some streetable mild build heads and cam only do 400ish to the wheels. You can run a little nitrous which i did and the ls motors take it easily. As long as plugs are two steps colder, gapped correctly and your tune is good. My ls when i flipped the switch ON for the nitrous the tune would switch over to nitrous tune and when turning it off would switch over to max n/a tune i had the best of both worlds.

@@KevinzGarageyou dont have to just remove the fans and radiator gives you just enough room for the cam swap.
