CAMBODIA: KING NORODOM SIHANOUK'S 77TH BIRTHDAY

King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia has celebrated his 77th birthday.
The celebrations to mark the day took place at his riverside palace in Pnomh Penh.
King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia held three-days of celebration for his birthday at his riverside palace.
He received well-wishers including his son, National Assembly President, Prince Norodom Ranariddh, and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Observers described the celebrations as low-key.
Sihanouk, who is now 77 years old, also spent Friday evening at a chamber orchestra concert held in his palace.
It was attended by foreign diplomats.
Constitutional monarch Sihanouk has complained of poor health ahead of his birthday, saying it has forced him to drastically scale back public appearances.

The revered monarch told his subjects his television appearance in September that he had to cut down on his engagements and make fewer trips to the provinces as he was suffering from fatigue and dizzy spells.
