You might not remember so heres a quick non spoiler refresher. that guy with the mustache who was escorting john in the opening was Edgar Ross. He was Milton's right hand man who you met when you went fishing with jack, and who lead the raid against the gang when Arthur died. In the end credits after you killed micah, he followed the trail back and tracked down john and his family. So unfortunatly it was because john killed micah that everything in this game takes place. excited for the series!

When RDR1 released it was incredible, clearly ahead of its time in so many areas, floored people absolutely beautiful to look at. Then RDR2 came out years later and did it again. Its so wonderful that people get to experience it on the PC now finally and with a few modern graphical enhancements/settings options for FPS, Resolution, lighting. It looks so crisp and plays so well. The fact that everyone thats picked it up the past couple weeks now most are like "this looks pretty" on a 14 year old game is a testament to just how well they did. RDR1 you'll fall quickly into on controls and gameplay features, RDR2 expanded on pretty much everything. So gameplay wise its a very much "simpler" experience, its the core/heart of what RDR2 was built upon basically. I'm envious of you playing them backwards for the story, you'll have far more investment I feel. Like your encounter there with Bill. You rode with that man, you know Bill, those of us that played this on release didn't have any context for who these men were. You have that connection with them and this world.

If you had played RDR before RDR2 you would have noticed that Bonnie McFarlane was mentioned a few times. There was the big boulder with a lot of names. It has the BM branding mark. On a beach you find a man with a letter adressed to Bonnie McFarlane and when exploring as John in the epilogue you could visit the McFarlane Ranch. But they were absent because of the plague in the area. Of course because John couldn't meet Bonnie before RDR. She was in the Red Dead Online though.

Cam! I was gonna buy this game soon but now that my favorite RDR KZbinr is back, I'll just watch for now.
@LaertesStrongCoffee2 ай бұрын
I think it's way better to experience this game by yourself first if it's not a problem. Really recommend. I remember watching a KZbinr play and then having my playthrough and it was worth it. Not only by the choices you can make in here but the way you can play is always different from other people. Specially if you're curious and might have a different approach to stuff that watching others play could be considered very linear and absolute. I enjoyed a lot better making my way and discovering mechanics and exploring things outside the box. You should buy it. This game is awesome and has a lot of things that RDR2 has not and I wish the developers kept it. Like blind fire from cover, pay bribes and disguising yourself to enter in gang camps. Disarm enemies and incapacitating them by limbs or watch them shoot their own foot haha, treasure hunt and various side missions that only unlock if you visit all places in all corners but most players don't even know about those because they think the game is finished. Even if you watch all of her gameplay, still a good experience buying this one for yourself later at least.
@Ronuk19962 ай бұрын
@R.I.P.LaerteSatan I agree there is allot RDR1 has but there's allot 2 has that one does not. You can talk your wayout trouble with a witness in 2 and it's depends on the personality if they believe you or not. A Disaguise system with Manhunt 2 environment talk downs would be great for stealth. But both Games feel similar but very differnt, they also differnt types of Wssterns as well.
@LaertesStrongCoffee2 ай бұрын
@@Ronuk1996 RDR2 Is one of my favorites games but sometimes gets me in my nerves by how outdated some of the basics stuff are. The wanted system is so broken in my opinion and the bandana thing is so useless most of the time. I wish Rockstar could fix those things. The fast travels are so immersive in RDR1 but in 2 they just make it like a boring cutscene and you're already there. In every ways of traveling. RDR1 you can actually choose to enjoy the ride and tell the driver to slow down or go faster, change seats and shoot using the windows. Get out whenever you want and also travel to the marked spot in your map. RDR2 not even the setting camp works properly haha it annoys me so much. But yeah despite it's outdated designs RDR2 is amazing but the first one will always be revolutionary for it's time and I even think most people should start for 1 but fortunately or unfortunately most people only heard about 2. Thankfully now RDR1 is in PS4.

The entire area you explored in Exploring Armadillo & Bounty Hunting w/ Sadie - Red Dead Redemption 2 - Part 38 was of course part of the original Red Dead Redemption map so this is such a fun little re-introducing to the map a few years later in 1911. The RDR1 map includes the State of New Austin, along with the Tall Trees and Great Plains regions in West Elizabeth, all situated below the Upper Montana River, which flows into Flat Iron Lake. There's of course notable differences between the two games, such as Blackwater now having a train station with tracks running through the Great Plains, an addition not present in Red Dead Redemption 2. These new tracks connect Blackwater to the State of New Austin, connecting it to towns like Armadillo, allowing visitors from the East, such as Blackwater and beyond to travel to these towns to "experience the Wild West." New Austin itself is primarily inspired by Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and the Mojave Desert. Designed to capture the classic Wild West, Texas along with these other States do exist as well. In my head canon New Austin could be a slice of Texas that formed at the same time or broke away as it's own State. So that should give you an idea of where you are on this fictional U.S Map. On the other side of the Upper Montana River north of Blackwater lies the RDR2 map. You'll also notice a whole new region to the south of New Austin, across the river, that wasn't present in Red Dead Redemption 2. The names provide a hint to its origins, but I'll let you discover this for yourself, as it's one of my favorite locations in the game.

tip about the horses every 3 times you hear their hoofs hit the ground, press to sprint once if you time it right you can move straight across the map and even easily beat bonnie in that race without ever running out of stamina. and at a decent rate of speed
@LaertesStrongCoffee2 ай бұрын
You can press circle to greet people and sometimes John can reply automatically when convenient. They certainly improved that in the second game as you already know. In this game you can do a lot of things that you cannot in the second one but you'll have to get used to it and remember a LOT of controls and resources because this one won't take you by the hand like RDR2. The horse's controls are simple and you just need to hold buttons than keep pressing it. You can also check the pause menu for look into the watch and know what time it is because there is so many time where a mission can't happen for not being the right time. If you can, check the stores and different ones for new things to buy every now and often when updates, like buying a bandana to hide your identity and not lose honor doing things that can compromise your ways. Getting money easier doing crimes is cool haha. Just some basic tips that the game leave to the player and not of than can forget or not notice. The duels are also tricky but if you can't make yourself to kill them by a single shot just press square and hit the last shot mark. The game has some features that do not show in the tutorial unfortunately. You can also shoot their guns to disarm them and not kill them. Sorry for the long ass comment but I hope you enjoy this game. Have a good time!😊

It's clear on the other side of New Austin from her ranch, it's known gang territory.
