Fun fact: Red Dead Revolver was initially owned by Capcom as they were the publishers of Angel Studio, the developers behind the game. This game was paying homage to all the legendary Spaghetti Westerns that had a cultural impact during the 1960s and 1970s. At the time, the developers gained the rights to some of the musical scores from said spaghetti westerns to create an immersive experience. The main theme is the main theme from Lo Chiamavano King, The tutorial section is entitled "Jackie" from the Minnesota Clay. Even some of the characters are nods to iconic spaghetti western characters. Mister Black for instance was based off Franco Nero's Django since he has a gatling gun in his coffin. While not a western reference, Mister Kelly is based on Leon the Professional. Overall, this is a really fun game and I really wish they would go back and attempt a remaster of this.

3:09 actually hes not john marston with a different name. he's mentioned in RDR2 that he was known as a legendary bounty hunter before Arthur and Johns time. Hence why RDR and RDR2 are based on when cowboys were slowly dying out and covilization was more main stream, as opposed to Red Harlow being at a peak time for cowboys

I hope you keep playing this one. I never played this game (although I was aware about it WELL before Red Dead Redemption came out) but it surprisingly looks really great. Not nearly on the same level as RDR but still, for nostalgic purposes it looks fun enough AND actually I am sure there are some easter eggs for RDR in it somewhere if you look hard enough. Rockstar loves them some easter eggs.

Red Harlow is spoken about/hinted at all through both RDR games, but more like a legend. Like the events of RD Revolver were highly exaggerated.

I remember seeing this game in a game informer when I was around 9 -10 I begged my parents to get it and they found it on ebay. I played the hell outta it had everyone but Mr Kelley because he was too fast. Found the game was on ps4 and got it for $10 a few years ago. I was so sad that the only references to the game were in like dlc characters for multi-player. Also long live the best character Jack Swift.

I wish we could have an RDR-movie series. Or a show series. I even got an idea: First there's RDRI as a startup movie with RDRII as an obvious sequel. And then there's this mini series called: "Tales of the Wild West/Tales of the Red" and it's about Red Harlow and other tales about the RDR-World like - famous Gunslingers, Black Belle, Billy Midnight, Emmet Granger and of course Jim "Boy" Calloway - storys about Dutch VanderLinde after the split up of the gang - storys about the gang (Blackwater heist etc.) So yeah, that's my vision of all that.

Damn so many memories. My step brother and I played the hell out this when we were younger. The multi-player was especially fun. I don't think it was online, I'm pretty sure it was meant to be local multi-player and with a controller adapters it could support up to 4 player plus bots. Endless hours playing this. Red Harlow needed a cameo of some kind in the Redemption games. Hopefully we'll get one if Rockstar ever releases another red dead redemption game.

@indiana_holmes2 жыл бұрын
It's too bad Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 didn't do a better job of integrating Revolver. They could have EASILY included Red Harlow in one of the, "Wild West Stories" Jack read, or have Langton reference him in his interactions with John. Obviously Red Dead Revolver was more of an 'arcade' experience with ridiculously 'cartoonish' characters, but they could have easily just explained away that style. Revolver could easily be explained as just some exaggerated tale of the Wild West, just like the one Arthur fabricated with Callaway and his final duel.
@indiana_holmes2 жыл бұрын
@@cantnevercould9660 true, but that is so obscure. That could literally be a story about anyone. Unless you played Red Dead Revolver JUST before playing RDR2, you wouldn't assume he was referring to Revolver. Besides, the villains of Revolver didn't just kill his Dad, they killed his Mom too. If Jack had said something like, "I'm reading a story about this kid with a burnt hand. He grew up to become a brave man. He hunted down the killers who murdered his family." That would DEFINITELY be a reference to Revolver.
@indiana_holmes2 жыл бұрын
@@cantnevercould9660 no it wouldn't. It would just be a direct reference to Revolver. Your example isn't necessarily a reference to Revolver (it could be, but there's no definitive way to prove it). Your example could be a reference to literally any story involving a man who lost their father.
