How has your experience been with engineering at trinity. I have an offer to study it at this college next year. Any advice you would give?

It's really great! All of the professors are really engaging and knowledgeable, and the college is a fun place to live. My advice would be to not take your first term too seriously, the work is not so hard and it is more important to have fun and make friends!

Hey, informative video! I just received an offer to study Engineering at St Catz, I was just wondering how many hours per week you spend (or are expected to spend) studying, including contact hours?
@TheDodgyEngineer3 жыл бұрын
I'm in my second year now and the workload is quite intense! It varies from college to college, but in first year it was around 10-12 hours of lectures a week, with 2-4 hours of labs, 3 hours of supervisions, and around 10 hours of additional work (examples papers, reports etc.)
@maxbhatia3753 жыл бұрын
@@TheDodgyEngineer Thank you for the reply! That does sound intense but it does give you time in the evening for socialising and societies I hope! (Imagining COVID didn't exist of course!)

why did you choose Cambridge than Oxford for Engineering?
@TheDodgyEngineer2 жыл бұрын
Oxford does not offer an engineering course, it offers engineering science, which is not a MEng degree

Thanks for this. I see you have a laptop and a tablet plus a spare monitor. Is the laptop a 2 in 1 with touch and pen input? What do you carry around.? If you were choosing the best kit for studying engineering first year in 2022, what kit would you recommend?

Thanks for the reply. My daughter is about to begin second year A levels and hopes to do engineering at uni. I'm trying to get her good kit asap so please forgive me pressing on this. If you could get a very good new 2 in 1 13 inch laptop now would you dispense with the iPad? She is using onenote. Is this a common choice for note taking?
@TheDodgyEngineer2 жыл бұрын
@@lmwald Many people use 2 in 1s, however I would never switch as having multiple devices gives me better flexibility. OneNote is fine, but GoodNotes for iPads is better and more widely used here.
