I ordered the blue one a few days ago and can't wait to read from it. I do have a visual impairment, after having a series of operations on my right eye less than 2 years ago, so can read only with my left eye. This verse by verse NKJV I pray will be amazing! Thanks. I have a few Bibles with Indopaque and it is a great paper. Very little show-through considering the paper's thinness. Much less in real life than the videos show, as always although it does depend somewhat on the lighting where you read. In any case I have never found the Indopaque's show-through to be a hindrance to reading. Thank you brother Mark for the review. I enjoyed it! evangelicalbible.com has these in stock now for us American brothers and sisters as well.

BOTH of my TOPAZ BIBLES are in calfskin..RED..ESV. And Black calfsplit for NKJV. Both ARE better than floppy goatskin in a bible this size.

For example. I will never buy another TOPAZ bible. But I do buy Schuyler bibles WHEN they become available because I know what I am getting and like it. I also buy the personal size. So 205 $ for regular QUENTEL and 185 for personal size . and 5 translations. Well you get the idea and can do the math. Nelson has copied their format in their PREMIER collection and charge half the price. A huge success.

Excellent review, Mark. I've been looking forward to your review of the NKJV Topaz for a long time. I agree that Cambridge would do well to shrink the Topaz down to the size of a Cameo. While my Pitt Minions are perfect for carrying to church, the Cameo is probably the best hand-sized Bible for all-around use. A Cameo in the NKJV, ESV, NASB, etc. would compete extremely well with the Schuyler Personal Size Quentels. BTW... any idea why Cambridge chose split calfskin for the NKJV Topaz, and not regular calfskin as they did for the KJV Topaz?

a nice review of this new format of the NKJV.... personally, i do not like the new practice of placing the NKJV marginal notes as footnotes... that feature detracts a little for me, from what the NKJV concept is supposed to be, with the NU and M text notes in the margin near the texts to which they belong ...

I can’t really answer that other than to say it’s slightly easier to read? I’m not really a translation expert sorry! I like the NKJV though, it’s one of my favourites and certainly in my top 3 Bible translations

BIBLE makers should see that smaller BIBLES THAT are also big PRINT are best sellers. CAMEO from Cambridge and personal size Quentel from Schuyler bibles. But put good readable PRINT in a personal size would sell big time. E.g. take CONCORD size and bold type/FONT and make it thicker to allow larger FONT ..say 10.5 POINT to 12 POINT FONT. Go to bank often.

I think ONLY a TOPAZ using the PRINT used for KJV. NOT the one used in current NKJV TOPAZ. Rather boring esp w/ no format for poetry or psalms. So a small but readable layout. See the 4.5 x 8.5 x 1.5 ESV 12 point in buffalo leather. For an example of how it CAN be done. Maybe CAMBRIDGE will ask readers what THEY want before taking another multi million $/£ Header into stress over WHY TOPAZ was NOT well received.

I would not say that 10 point is NOT readable. BUT it IS a downgrade from the 11 point TURQUOISE. And NOT in KJV type.

Cambridge made a MASSIVE mistake with this Bible. OT quotes in Mark are italicized (only when Jesus quotes them btw). The other 3 gospels do NOT italicize OT quotes at all. How on earth did this get past the designers and proofreaders???
