Hi jake! Do you have any book recommendation for undergraduates who are trying to get in computer science? Something not only about straight up programming but also with suggestions on how to get a little bit more creative and fully use your knowledge in this field. I need to do some reading in English because I'm from outside of uk and I'm also seriously thinking about studying in Edinburgh(btw any thoughts on university of Edinburgh? I'm definitely not one of those who can get to Oxbridge)

Gabriela Silarow 8 weeks of lectures in a term, but you're there for ten (extra time spent catching up on work or partying). Three terms a year.

The door you had looks like you didn't have a lock on it. Is that right?

Joel Wraith it's a double door, the outer one is lockable but traditionally left open most of the time you're in. If you're so busy or antisocial you don't want visitors you "sport your oak", ie close the outer door.

DemolitionDustCloud That's not so awkward. When I lived in Fisher (30 years ago) there were no en suites, just a bathroom on each floor shared between 4 sets! Think our room was a bit more spacious as a result though 😁
