No university should cost 40K per year. Imagine talking and discussing about improving the world and making it a better place to live while draining students’ pockets.

Cambridge or Oxford has remained a dream for me back then when I studied. I couldn't even afford Heidelberg, so UK was totally out of reach. We neither weren't informed about the possibility of getting in via scholarships. From what I know nowadays, I would definitely have tried to apply for a scholarship. In the end I went to Greece for one year, and it was great. Next university to present: Heidelberg?

I really wanted to study at Cambridge but i just cant seem to justify spending that much money. When it comes to actual learning most of their programs are 3 years for Bachelors and 1 year for Masters which is a joke. The highest rated universities in Europe offer 4 year degrees and 1,5-2 years for masters so you learn so much more there. Maybe post graduate studies have more to offer but the only reason for me to do a Bachelors or masters there is to save time and get a very reputable degree sooner. In that sense then maybe it makes sense and you will get your moneys worth back. Applications and scholarships are a pain in the ash so huge respect for anyone who managed that.

Only worth it if you are a UK student or manage to get a scholarship or you are wealthy

Go to Netherlands and visit the uni cities of Leiden (oldest uni in country), Delft, Groningen, Utrecht or Maastricht.

Cambridge is a much more quaint place to visit than Oxford. Oxford is a great town, but its population has grown beyond what its infrastructure and city limits can really support.

Now we know that Clare got good grades 😮 Jokes aside, I think that it's outrageous to charge students such high rates for a service that should be free, education is the right of every person, not just the ones who have money, imagine all that brilliance we would have lost because they weren't able to afford it 😢

these rates are only for international students - British students pay a flat fee of £9250/ year

You think Cambridge is expensive? Try Harvard where the average tuition fee is around $83k per year.😅

No, it shouldn’t be free for international students as they don’t pay taxes. though I disagree for the fees being so high for them. It should be free for locals

Everything is about money , if you are affluent then you can conquer the world but a poor person no matter what background has can't even study in their own country, hahaha it seems crazy but in the world a country named Afghanistan don't allow the 50% of its society to study , so a poor individual either study in their own country nor aboard, such a unjust world I wish that I would never exist in this strange world

After Brexit we stopped considering the UK. It's just too much effort now without any benefits you can't get in other EU countries. Although I love English, it's just not worth it.

In my opinion all these "elite" universities are overrated. Especially the Ivy League. Other than the reputation and clout what do they offer that you can't get from a state school?

Well, you're pretty much right... Reputation and tradition play just as important a role as “building a network” The materials taught there are the same as anywhere else (the only other advantage I can think of is the small number of students, which allows for more personalized teaching/supervision).
