I'm not native Brit but I guess, 1st is the best, then it goes down as 2.1 > 2.2 > 3 and then is failed.

Hey jake! Im currently studying for my last year of alevels and just wondering if you would advise taking a gap year or going straight to uni?:)
@MikeSmith-rd9fi10 жыл бұрын
gap year
@LLGAMINGVIDEOS10 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you feel, if you feel as if you're not quite ready just yet to go to Uni, take a gap year and try being involved with work to do with your subject you are wishing to study as that makes you a more attractive candidate for a Uni, all the best
@bob12392810 жыл бұрын

Wait...those scores are considered GOOD?!?! Most of them were straight up failing! Why is everyone saying that those are good scores?
@patsybob9 жыл бұрын
+Samuel Fortini Yeah they weren't the best, maybe a lot of the people commenting haven't been to university and don't understand the grading system? The first set of marks his average was 55.9% and on the second set of marks he got 61.5%. Quite a few of those modules he was barely over 40% which is almost failing to the extent that you are bordering on having to retake the module, in fact he did fail 1 module in the first set. Getting so many marks around 40% is the time to seriously worry, many universities will make you repeat the year if you fail three core modules in one academic year regardless of merit elsewhere on the course or you may be kicked off the course etc. Around 40%= need to study way more. Furthermore, generally a 2:2 classification (50% +) isn't well respected as employers ask for a 2:1 classification (60%+) or better such a 1st classification (70%+). I thought they would be getting higher marks considering its Cambridge like high 2:1 grades and 1st classifications, apparently not.

+Samuel Fortini You're American, aren't you?
@samuelfortini82759 жыл бұрын
Maybe, why?
@CloakedSpartan9 жыл бұрын
Samuel Fortini Americans usually have experience with needing much higher percentages to be considered to have gotten a good grade, mainly because their tests are quite often significantly easier e.g. largely multiple choice
