Bitcoin's value comes from the same place as gold - belief that it is a store of value. It all comes down to adoption and if that belief can completely get ingrained into everyone. Gold has this already completed because of its centuries-long history. It remains to be seen if bitcoin will succeed. The trade might be in US-dollars still for a long time, as the dollar is the worst currency you give away first. As soon as a country has a trade surplus it needs to change the dollars to gold to keep the purchasing power.

I am not sure what you mean by the US is the worst Currency. Alot of other countries are in a lot worse situations. USA generally is pretty politically stable, huge population and relatively isolated. The big thing here that he nailed is the West has been sleep walking, not thinking. Just like WW2 USA had a small military ect... but the giant woke up.
