Tried fasting Ramadan before converting and it was that experience that really opened my heart to Islam. Even as a non-Muslim, I felt the difference.

This is so pertinent to me. I find myself numbing through distractions frequently, because I’m already very dissociated due to complex trauma, so it does take much more energy for me to accomplish things. I get tired, and I resign myself to zoning out. May Allah guide me and help me work on that within myself 🤲🏼 some relief as well.

Loved the message that Islam is not a religion which asks of us to make our way around the duniya, but instead through the duniya! ❤️

''When we take a wrong moral decision, its because the believing mind is not fully in place, if you're deciding good from evil, you need to be in full position of all your faculties. Usually when we take a bad decision, it because we've shut out some part of our conscious in order to allow lower self to grab something''

Hearing him speak about what we can do without distractions is a little nostalgic as it reminds me of school years where I could write flawless logical essays as well as compositions. Most of that is lost today, I struggle with paying attention and at the same time we are flooded with all kinds of noises, it takes effort to clear it.

One of the protections against trials in the grave is any beneficial knowledge about Islam and Allah that you shared with others in this world. This Ramadan, share your favorite hadith, or teach someone your favorite surah or post a spiritual reminder for others! And get Allah's blessings and protection in the hereafter! May Allah give you multiple folds of good deeds this month

Great Interview :) i try to reflect on this topic in this ramadan as i watched myself not being distracted by entertainment but rather by my tendency to get passive in doing my daily activities. I feel tired and attach this to fasting. I really have to see my fast as a way to be naturally active :)

Alhamdulillah i grew up playing and enjoying but for the first time after lockdown i got too attached to KZbin and have noticed a huge decline in my concentration. My self-discipline has also decreased. Inshallah hope this Ramadan to try to turn back to my old self. This interview Inshallah will help. Jazakallah.

جزاكم الله خيرا Very poignant points about education and technology. Makes me think of the much needed conversation on how we should intentionally design schooling for critical consciousness. Curious if there are conversations and scholarship taking place at CMC on school and curriculum design?

Might I say that there are many things in the world that are not very amazing. Hence the attraction to distractions .

I have fasted but I have lacked and been deficient in prayers and reciting the Holy Qur’an. In previous years I haven’t worked so been more active. This year I have worked from home and even taken days off but still been far more lazy. The food I’m eating is not healthy. My sleeping is all over the place. I also used to be careful with avoiding sins but this year I’ve been reading news where there may be some vulgarity or I’ve been on social media and there’s been vulgarity or music popping up.
