Developing global competence in ELT - Ben Goldstein

Our job should not be restricted to going through the language syllabus in our classes but should develop values required by citizens in today’s globalized world. Embracing a global competence in our classes is about developing particular skills and attitudes: the knowledge and understanding of global issues and intercultural concerns, the fostering of analytical and critical thinking and the valuing of cultural diversity. This workshop will show how these concepts can be incorporated easily into our classrooms regardless of age or level: practical and engaging ideas that can be put into use at once.
