This is the best video. You don't realize the impact you had in my life. I'm French, I wasn't bad with English back in 2004 but I wasn't the best either. I played Symphonia and instantly fell in love with your voice, your accent. I got obsessed with Kratos also because I lost my father the same year and saw him as a father figure I missed. I recorded your voice and kept listening to it over and over, it made me want to learn English, you're actually the one who made who I am today, completely bilingual. I'll never thank you enough for that, and I wish I could hear you and talk to you for real but that'll never happen unless you come to our Japan expo in Paris. Lots of hugs and love, Lucile.

For me, this will always be the definitive "Cam Clarke" voice, its the one I think of when I think of your voice work! That low, cool masculine smoothness is ingrained into my head. Not just from Kratos, but similar sounding characters you've done like Jack Archer from Robotech Battlecry and Master Miller in Metal Gear Solid/Twin Snakes, and the random Blood Elves in World of Warcraft. I know those voices aren't all exactly the same and have their own subtle distinctions, but the general vibe they all give off is what I think of when I think "Cam Clarke" :)

I think I played Symphonia when I was 11? And I fell hard for Kratos the second he said 'Get out of the way' and here I am almost 30 and my inner tween is still fangirling over this. Out of all the characters you've done voices for, Cam, Kratos Aurion has always been my most favorite one and I love it that you keep coming back to play the part every time the game devs include him in another installment either as a main character, supporting character, guest character, cameo appearance, etc. It is great how much you are devoted to each and every one of your characters and it is much loved and appreciated by us, your fans. Most of us will probably agree that this poem suits his character pretty accurate to who he is, which I find even more impressive. Well done on another one of these videos Cam, and keep them going. One major thing the Tales series is known for are “skits” in which a character is doing something silly or slightly out of character. This falls straight into that rubric, with gusto. As a fan of the “Tales of” series as a whole, Symphonia, and everyone’s favorite dead beat dad, I can only say thank you for this. Also, this is clearly meant for his son, who shows him that his life can still have meaning and to not give up on the world by the end ;D

This was such a treat! Thanks for the video, Cam. I happened to search for Kratos’ picture to answer someone regarding what fictional character had the sexiest voice when I stumbled upon your video. I was so pleasantly surprised to see that you brought him back like this! Tales of Symphonia was my favourite game in my childhood and sparked my interest in JRPGs and adventure games, and remains a clear favourite today. In fact, were it not for that game then perhaps my English would not have been what it is today. The storyline, and the amazing voice acting of the whole cast bringing said storyline to life, motivated me like nothing else to study English outside of school at around 10 years of age. Growing tired with my constant asking for translations, my parents got me my first English-Norwegian dictionary that I still use to this day so that I could look up words as I played rather than repeatedly asking what words and phrases such as “salvation” and “chosen one” meant. I didn’t even feel like I was studying, because it was all so much fun and I just wanted to understand what was being said. Oh, the nostalgia! Wishing you a nice day, from a fan in Norway.
