Wonderful memories of my 60s childhood. THANK YOU for uploading! My family sometimes watched this show on Saturday nights but almost always watched 2 other Saturday night programs on the same network (ABC), The Lawrence Welk Show & The Hollywood Palace.

Cam I met you and your family in the70s 69 maybe. I remember Robert Clark
@jubalcalif91003 ай бұрын
I too remember Robert Clarke from his movie roles in the 40s & 50s and his many 60s & 70s TV guest appearances. And he was a regular on a late 70s/early 80s syndicated faith-based series called "Westbrook Hospital" which was produced by Faith for Today" (a ministry of the Seventh Day Adventist Church). A real class act!

How many of the shows are on DVD or videos? Y'all were a staple in our house. I couldn't wait till it came on TV. I was small when y'all were on. But couldn't get enough. Where would I be able to purchase all this shows.

Was there ever a time when this was considered entertainment. Not my cup of tea. I'm not putting it down I just can't relate to this.

@@SweeetSue in my post I made it abundantly clear that I was not putting the king family down but rather that their art form was not to my liking and I stand by that statement. I will also point out that I find exploiting young children in a family band somewhat distasteful. For whatever it's worth I have had more than my share negative comments on my videos over the years. I was hacked several times and I was also the victim of an internet slander campaign due to my politics. The point that I'm making is that if something can't hold up to a bit of scrutiny it's probably crap. This form of entertainment portrayed an America that never existed. All white perky and pretty. I will also point out that this type of entertainment was very much out of Step artistically speaking with what else was going on during those years. I guess these people missed the whole social Revolution while they were busy shopping for matching outfits and matching haircuts. It's all just so much milk toast. I would wonder as to how those young children grow up. Hopefully not like the Bing Crosby family. Now he was a real piece of work terrorizing his children so that he could have high ratings. Have a nice day.

@@rickdagger2209 "Was there ever a time when this was considered entertainment," sounds like a put down to me. People that grew up loving the King Family come here to smile & remember. If you don't like it, go and be positive on the artist's pages you admire.

@@SweeetSue " was there ever a time when this was considered entertainment" was meant more as a sociological observation then a direct put-down to either you or your generation. It's not so much about the musicality as it is about the presentation. To my generation this would be akin to you watching a Rob Zombie concert or even a Twisted Sister video. Perhaps you would find it not to your liking. It's all about subjectivity and you cannot quantify subjectivity. Art is supposed to mirror/ reflect culture not dictated it. I'm not critical of you loving the music of the king family. I would not fault you if you thought my videos were pure crap either. However I recognize the fact that music performances anything on KZbin or on social media is subject to both praise and criticism. It all falls under the overall auspices of freedom of thought and expression. I found this video cheesy and frankly silly. Or to put it in the words of your generation I thought it was Square Daddy-O. The Folk music of this era was magnificent as was the rock and roll. Like I said in my original text not my cup of tea. KZbin can get quite nasty I can assure you. I do not think anything I said was particularly outrageous or over the top, it's all part of social media. No personal offense intended. I'm sure you're a very nice person.
