Used to have this album. Great to hear the song again. One of my faves from the old days listening to KSHE here in St. Louis.
@johnvinga54465 жыл бұрын
Yes, indeed. I lived in St. Louis as well in the 70s, and KSHE played great stuff. Camel, Jade Warrior, Iron Butterfly, The Doors (Celebration of the Lizard in its entirety), Rare Bird, Nektar, and countless more. Don't live there anymore, but I've had friends tell me KSHE has gotten less progressive, more commercialized, and more predictable. The cost of success I suppose.

@jcast18k Lady Fantasy was the first song I heard from Camel too :) It was so random, I was bored and opened up Limewire and did a search for 'fantasy'! This song came up, and it changed my life. I listen to completely different music now, than what I used to. I don't like most mainstream music either, but I never did before.

So enamoured were the executives in Europe, they visited the band in the studio trying to talk CAMEL into renaming the songs on 'MIRAGE' (e.g., "Twenty To The Pack"). They also wanted CAMEL to cover their amps with camel skins, allow advertisements and give away cigarettes at all the performances. The latter was successful as Jukes ...

@EliteOps1 Quote from the band's official website camelproductions . com: "Their second album, 'MIRAGE', heightened their profile and the album sleeve attracted the unwanted attention of the USA branch of Camel cigarettes who demanded the band change the cover or face legal action. The USA record company quickly fashioned a new sleeve to avoid legal hassles. The original sleeve remained unchanged throughout the rest of the world as Geoff Jukes had already struck a deal with the European ...

Ambrosia followed a similar trajectory to The Alan Parsons Project. Their first couple albums (notably _Somewhere I've Never Travelled_) were lightly progressive; then they drifted away from that into more straightforward pop.

C/\MEL - L/\DY F/\NT/\SY Listen very carefully, my words are about to unfold Concerning a lady I've seen but I never could hold I can see by your smile, Take a long while, The words that come through, I see that they're true, For she reminds me of you. Don't misunderstand me, it's not always easy to say The words in your head and your heart that you just can't explain I can see clearly, A face in the sky, Moon's in your eye, You're passing me by. Tell me the reason why. I can see clearly, A face in the sky, Moon's in your eye, You're passing me by. Saw you riding on a moon cloud, Saw you walking on a whirlpool, From the corner of my eye, I saw you. Saw you sitting on a sunbeam, In the middle of my daydream, Oh my Lady Fantasy, I love you.
