It’s not easy, but it’s shows a good character and social consciousness. Edit: *

For those who noticed this ranch is called the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch. Cleveland Amory was a well known writer and reporter who basically was the founder of the modern animal rights and protection movement. He named the ranch after the book 'Black Beauty'. It is over 1400 acres and houses all kinds of animals. Cleveland got his love of animals from his aunt in early childhood. He bought the first ship for the Sea Shepherd Organization to help stop Japanese whaling murders. He founded and funded multiple animal charities throughout the world. He died in 1998. His life was extremely interesting and he wrote three books about his cat called Polar Bear. If you love animals try to research him or get one of his books it will be a rewarding experience.

Aww this lady seems like such a good person. It really was sad seeing her emotional when he was being sent to the sanctuary :( I’ll never understand how rescuers and fosters are able to handle the separation from animals that they nurture back to health and life. I don’t think I would have the gall to be able to separate from them and want to keep all of the animals I fostered which I know I can’t because I won’t have enough space and not be able to help other animals
@mehere80382 жыл бұрын
I'm a wildlife rescuer. It can be hard, especially for ones that you worry for whatever reason may struggle to survive after release, but ultimately, the reason I & others like me do it is cause we know they belong in the wild & that's what we're going to get them back to & there's various ways that we hear how at least some of them are doing later & it's always rewarding to know they have such a full & happy life cause of what you've done for them :) One bird I had, I was doing exercise/wing strengthening work with him & was just about to finish off for the day, cause I could see he was ready to fly properly & so needed a couple of days to rest & let the soreness from that exercise subside before release, but he took off & I couldn't grab him in time. I worried about that one, cause he really wasn't quite ready & the plan was to "soft release" with supplemental food for a couple of weeks to make sure he survived, but when he escaped, it meant he didn't want to come back, cause he thought he'd be caged again & had decided he wanted to be free (as he was born), so I really did worry about him & thought he'd probably died. Anyway, about a week later, there was a mega storm & the next morning when I went outside, there he was, sitting inside the cage he'd been in with me lol. Since I didn't have any other animals in it, I'd left the door open, so he'd gone inside & was sitting there in the safety of the cage, with a roof over his head lol. Guess he didn't like the storm. I gave him a feed & he sat in there for a few hours before coming back out of the cage & exploring the yard. He kept hiding in the cage for the next few weeks, but eventually he settled down & moved into a local tree & after a few more weeks, he found another of my rescue birds he liked & so they paired up & went off together. They still kept coming back for daily feeds for a month or so but then stopped that & just came back when it had been raining & so there wasn't so much nectar around & just to say "hello" as well. So that one was great for me, cause even one I'd really worried about & thought hadn't made it had & he was clearly happy with his wild life. He enjoyed the chance to get a free feed after his rescue, but ultimately he didn't want to be a pet or caged or in my care forever, he wanted his freedom & had a great & happy life, cause of me giving him that chance of helping him to recover from a serious concussion & head injury from flying into a window

They were in an enclosed space most of the time, but they had room to walk and were never chained or anything. The day after the circus (we had it from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM) we would take them to a plot of land the circus had rented and they roamed around and played for the day until 3:00 PM, then we had to go back to the circus for training.

Yep. This was not actually best for Bubba at all. He was doing fine with human friends. The first lady...her heart ia broken now. Our precence changes animals and their needs. Bubba was highly intelligent and lonely. He surely went and tried to be friends with that silly antelope. He would have done great with an animal on the same intelligent level like him...donkey, dog etc. This story made me very sad. People are so stupid: "We give him his freedom". Personally not only was it clear to me they weren't treating his arthritic knees, but he wanted more human contact or at least his own little pack of some kind.
@constantine91425 жыл бұрын
@@mrs.schmenkman at least he's doing great at the ranch but I'd try to keep him longer personally. But this is why I hate where the kids ride these ponies nonstop even worse stuck to some stupid merry go round thing with some extremely fat kid on them when only toddlers should be on them for only a little while while the rest of the time feeding them and petting them should be enough with shade and a safe space for them to go with tons of water and regular food. I educated my kid as soon as possible that it was wrong as soon as he was too big to ride them and I only let him ride them if they looked well cared for, happy, and no damn merry go round contraption on them.

Will the other hump eventually stand up too? Thank you so much for saving the beautiful innocent animals.
@Temperdoodle5 жыл бұрын
It depends entirely on the structure of the hump. Some perfectly healthy bactrian camels have humps that lay down simply because the way the fat is stored causes it to be top heavy. His back hump has a nice thick base so it stands easily, but the front hump looks like it may naturally flop over.
@ashleyjohnson96515 жыл бұрын
Camels humps store energy in fat to be used in emergencies iirc, so I would think that when he eats enough and enough time passes, it would fill out again
@ashleyjohnson96515 жыл бұрын
@@Temperdoodle that's cool! I didn't know that. Someone else also said that camels that are constantly fed and have a good supply of food may get floppy humps because their bodies sort of know that they aren't going to be starving. Not sure if it's true or not!
