Great video, great first look for me for Camel Up the Card Game. It seems the next step from the Camel Up original game. Thank you guys

I really wish they just made the 2nd edition smaller, the game doesn't need a box or board as big as it is. They could've made it a great pub game if they just miniaturised the original game and that's it.

Great review guys, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your video. I'm a huge Camel Up fan, I've got both versions of the board game, the expansion for the first edition, the card game based on the first edition, and Off Season is also in there somewhere, so you won't be surprised when I say I've been looking at this game since it was announced. But I do have a problem with it... To me, the original Camel Up and the second edition, are like cartoons in a board game. They're packed with a zany sense of humour, with camels that are going to do their own thing, and the "spectators" (i.e. the players), are pretty much completely out of the loop when it comes to influencing them. True there are the +1 move and -1 move that can be played, but apart from that, it's those crazy camels that are in charge, and I really like that. Now it's true that some people who take their betting games more seriously than me, just can't get to grips with Camel Up, no matter what way they try to calculate the chances and odds, it's just too random for that to really work. This card game returns some of the control to the players. Normally I would say this is a good thing, but not for Camel Up. It might please some, but I can see where the sheer wackiness in the originals has been greatly reduced, and that's a big price to pay in my opinion. I could be wrong, I haven't seen this played yet, and I'll probably end up buying it just because it's Camel Up, but I really don't think I'd be pulling this one out to play very often.

Thank you so much for your visit and sharing that! It is that type of board game basically, that if you are in the right mind, then it's ok. Not too strategic about things. There's a bit more strategy, but still there are stil the card draw and everyone's influencing the move in a way, and even more in higher player counts. Yes we are a bit of completionist, so we got all of the Camel Up, but the base game complesionist, not the expansions I guess haha. Hope you'll get to play one day, maybe your friend or your meetup group would have it, at least for you to try and play.

Had high hopes for this game but was initially disheartened after seeing Tom Vasel's negative-ish review of the game (albeit an older publication). This video explaining the additions the card version has brought in has got me excited to play it now after blinding buying it just the other day.
