I own the komodo and I find myself using my Lumix s5iix 90% of the time.

Hey, first of all your videos are amazing... I want to ask, did you had any specific problem with this camera or it just did't fit your needs? I am asking that because i am studying film making and after my studyies i want to be involved in mountain bike film making. The specs of this camera cover my needs, do you think that i will have a problem that i have not even think of it and it will be an obstacle on my work? And if you can, tell me what was your problem with this camera, not exactly, roughly. Thank you for your time, i wish you the best!

Thanks so much! Should be coming out with a video on this shortly. It’s a great camera in a lot of ways. Just doesn’t fit with my workflow or needs right now and I shouldn’t have purchased it.

Great points Matt! I’m more annoyed by KZbinrs who “review” video equipment by companies that have sent them gear for free. It’s nearly impossible to be completely honest in that case or you risk getting removed from the early product list. I just got back from NAB in Vegas and you could witness first hand all the popular video KZbinrs in the back pockets of these companies. It was quite eye opening that when you watch these people’s channels, you’re just watching marketing videos.

Dang. Yeah, that’s a bummer to see for sure. Luc Forsyth just came out with a great video taking about that!🤙🏼

@@WakeUpMatt Are you selling the Ember too? I’m about to buy it, but I don’t plan on making a lot of money from it. It’s just fun to shoot with and the footage is sick.
@WakeUpMatt7 ай бұрын
@@mattcarlson12 Yeah, I ended up selling it. The footage was amazing and I loved shooting on it, but it just didn't make sense financially for me to keep it anymore. I'd love to one day buy it again in the future if it makes sense though!

@@WakeUpMatt What are you going to do after selling the Komodo X? Or is that to be revealed in a future video?

Canon's name just sounds like the best camera company i never had one but I remember my first ever camera search being canon camera 😅

I almost fell for “8-bit can’t be graded, has no range, etc.” I started looking for a camera that did 10 bit or raw, when my camera is just fine, and has more flexibility than people give it credit for.
@WakeUpMatt7 ай бұрын
So true! Proper lighting and exposure will trump the specs every time 🤘🏼
@JoshConnectMedia7 ай бұрын
But practically choosing a certain color profile like Slog 3 and others has a wider range of colors to stretch out a as d hence 10 bit would be better than 8bit , but the most important thing is , stick to what you have and make the best out of it ! Know how best to use your gadgets rather than chasing new gadgets while your previous gadgets haven’t even been widely used ! Go out there and shoot !! The more you shoot either your gadgets , the more you get to know the in and out of it .

Question on the Komodo X, does it utilize the IS in Canon RF lenses? I have an R5C and have been in love with the 16 bit and lower data formats

It does for sure. It makes a big difference too. Should be coming out with a quick video on that soon!

That's not camera companies that's youtubers lying to everyone and you fell for it. You can't blame the companies for someones lack of comprehension and "desires"... people flock to youtube instead of the tried and true method of RENTING to test.
@WakeUpMatt7 ай бұрын
I think it’s a little bit of hype from everyone and everything that can get in the way when making a decision. And for sure, renting is always a great way to test a camera before buying 🤙🏼

@@WakeUpMatt I don't think I've ever seen a camera company hype a camera the way youre describing. They highlight features of said cameras but what youre talking about is strictly youtube marketing, and your click bait title fits the bill of just that.

Also...I'm not loyal to the Camera Brands. (Since I'm low incomed) It's the lenses. When I buy all of my lenses that only fit that camera brand, I'm stuck with that brand.

Very true. Lenses definitely cause you to buy more into a camera brand. So thankful for lens adapters!😄

A lot of people don’t know what they want and they buy because a KZbinr said this is the best in the market and after buying they realize that they don’t know how to use it. My recommendation is to rent first
