Can you get a very clear 11" x 14' image with an iPad or iPhone ? Or, what is the largest image you can get and still have it very clear ? How far away from your paper can you use it ?

Hi thanks for the video. Will this app, with Ipad, be able to project onto a 16" X 20" canvas. Also, what is the largest canvas one can project onto?
@improvedrawing4 жыл бұрын
Set up your iPad stand directly facing the canvas at the required distance. You can then plot the main point s of interest using a grid method. This will enable you to draw your subject in proportion. You will need to check and recheck the proportions of the subject you are drawing before you make any definite marks or brush strokes.

Did you find out if you can do a 16x20? Not sure why he is talking about the grid system
@CraftsANDartsyStuff4 жыл бұрын
@@valeriekoochin3569 You can do larger drawings with Da Vinci Eye, its like Camera Lucida but better. You can also project onto a canvas with it. Da Vinci Eye also has AR so if you bump the stand it won't throw your entire drawing off.

I can’t figure out how to close the stand back up, it doesn’t close up correctly, the directions on the box are awful. Can you show us

Loosen the clamps at both ends and the bottom of each individual leg. Carefully turn the stand and it will return to it's original position. It can be a little confusing at first.

Sorry, I don't quite understand your question. If you are experiencing difficulties downloading the app onto your device you will need to contact iTunes directly. I don't sell the app apple iTunes does. My channel is basically reviewing what I know to be a useful drawing app.

Sorry if I was not clear, I’m looking to take my photographs and project them on a flat surface to be able to basically trace the details and then paint. I wondering how large a sketch i can produce? Is it dependant how far above the paper the iPad is positioned. Geoff

Can you make larger drawings
@improvedrawing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Geoffery. For larger artwork would recommend the larger version of the iPad stand. I canvas or A1 sheet could be located on a drawing board in front or below your device to create a rudimentary drawing or outline sketch. You would then have to work freehand.
@valeriekoochin35694 жыл бұрын
I’m still not clear...so it can project larger? Or not? Why would you need freehand then, is it just not clear enough to see?

I find this stand far too large for my needs or anyone's needs for that matter. You require a large surface to set the stand on. I will be making my own personal stand which will work porperly as well as not take up so much room or space. I want something that will work very easily on a small portable/collapsible type table around 2 ft. square which will have not only the iPad holder in an upright straight position to the art paper your working/ drawing on but will also have a platform to hold your work sheet in place and can be moved from one table/desk to another without further adjustments to retain the right exposure of what I wish to draw. I want my iPad set and standing at 90 degrees to the work I will be doing. I don't want the iPad to be leaning in any way shape or form. By being set at 90 degrees to the work sheet, focusing will be a whole lot easier in squaring up the picture I wish to draw on the work sheet.I have a design in mind that I know will work, but this monster of a stand is far too large for my needs. Making my own stand is cheaper, and I will end up with a stand that will work the way I want it to work.

Pretty incomplete demonstration. Useless. You dismiss any control to offset for Keystone distortion. Unless the image (in the pad) is 100% parallel to the paper onto which the image is going to be copied, vertical and horizontal measurements will be NOT proportional to the original, resulting in inaccurate renditions.

Da Vinci Eye is way better... Camera Lucida is impossible to use. You can't even zoom in.
@improvedrawing4 жыл бұрын
Wrong. The functionality of the camera lucida app allows you easily to zoom in and out of the images you are trying to draw. The app has its limitations but this isn't one of them,
@CraftsANDartsyStuff4 жыл бұрын
@@improvedrawing How do you zoom? Every time I try and zoom it moves the picture and not the picture and camera together. You can magnify the picture but you can't magnify the camera with the picture. For example if I wanted to get a close up of the eye... maybe I'm missing something there. With da Vinci you just pinch your fingers. If you accidentally touch the screen with CL it throws the whole thing off...
@CraftsANDartsyStuff4 жыл бұрын
Ok... I think I just figured it out, but that was the least intuitive thing I've ever seen. Also, it slides around when you are moving it? I don't understand. The difference between the two apps is night and day...
