Excellent tutorial. We love to see more of converting 2D to 3D with a real person inside the image (for example 2 Soccer players in the field and a ball and apply camera movements}. Thank you

It would be great to have a refreshed version of this tutorial with Resolve 19, mixed with the new USD system
@jmalmsten9 ай бұрын
If you don't want to rely on third party websites to be online. To calculate resolutions for aspect ratios you can just type the calculations in the field. For width: you take height and multiply with aspect ratio. For height: you divide width with aspect ratio. Like, 2160*(16/9) = 3840 Or 3840/(16/9) = 2160

Thanks this was really helpful. I'm really starting at the humble grass roots level in Fusion and trying to reach a bit for projecting soft shadows from 2d images. A little too far over my ski tips, but looking forward to learning more. Definitely subbing your channel!

I just started with video after working with animation programs. I was amazed how realistic this looks. Thank you for showing u your work flow. Yes i would love to see more. like for instance ... " how to grab an outside image cut it in layers and align them that it looks 3d . ok perhaps to much too ask but i saw something like that in after effects ... and although i'm not ready for that yet i like to see if something like that is possible in fusion davinci resolve ... thanx again 👍

This was awesome Jake!! Excellent tutorial. I done 90% of the tutorial following your instructions but I couldn’t get the projection of the left wall to work. I’ll have to try it again. I wanted to ask do you have a tutorial on using the projection as a set extension or something? Love to see how it would be used. Thanks again!!

Could you maybe show us how to do the same thing but like if we had a image with objects such as a couch and we want it there then how would we go about making it?

Instead of using a luma key you could also use a channel booleans node and set the alpha to red fg :)
@michaelvaughan28883 жыл бұрын
super cool man
@fasetnefas3 жыл бұрын
Amazing tutorial! But why do you have to always use a background node when adding something? Why not just leave the transparency behind it? Like what does the background node change? Edit: Especially with the grid, you added a background, just to remove it again with the luma keyer

Hi Jake, can we create a similar 3d background to look like Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj scenario? use video and images with curves, i will stay in the right side and i wanna have videos and images in the left but curve and not straight like the tonight show.

Sir I need your help. Can you explain how to make a Super NES mode 7 effect? Getting a 2D sprite, warp it to 3D and let it scroll into the screen like MODE 7 games like F-zero. I tried and keep failing..please please.

Hi, if I wanted to assign a separate texture to every plane would I have to assign each plane to a separate 3d merge node, have them share the same camera, and finally merge them back together with a 2d merge node, or could I simply assign a 3d project node to each plane?
@JakeWipp4 жыл бұрын
I think if you plug each projector into the plane nodes scene input it will work. Otherwise what you said would work. You could also play with the projector id.

If you happen on this comment, how does one place a 3d object within a 3d projection and light it? I have placed a test sphere in my 3d scene, but I can't light it. The projection is cast on it. Thank you! I really like your tutorials!

If you checked 'auto resolution', wouldnt that determine the correct pixel ratio when you resize it?
@JakeWipp3 жыл бұрын
It takes the projects resolution. The Image that I was resizing too was a different aspect ratio.

Jake how do we integrate green screen footage camera movement with the the converted 3D image camera movement
@JakeWipp4 жыл бұрын
You would need to use the 3d camera tracker and set up a 3d scene
@maheashthedaydreamer4 жыл бұрын
Jake Wipp would love to see a tutorial on that

Hey you are not appearing in the top of the davinci resolve tutorials search results... I'm telling this.. Cuz you need to be... I came to know about you from reddit... Try to keyword and hashtag your KZbin videos so that it comes on top. Thenks a ton..I watched all your videos today. Hoping for more :) all the best Btw where can we use this effect tho?
@JakeWipp4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks so much! This effect was a request from a patreon supporter. It can be used to make it look like the image is 3d.
@Thejas59034 жыл бұрын
@@JakeWipp Oh cool. Btw it possible to create that building bending scenes from Inception and Dr strange using the same 3d techniques and some tracking and stuff? If yes.. Then could you (the expert) find a way to do it? 😬
@JakeWipp4 жыл бұрын
Possibly although definitely not to the extent that they did in the movies. In the movies the reflections change, I the buildings structure changes and a bunch of other advanced stuff. They did use Fusion for some of the compositing in that movie though which is cool!

Check if you are using the latest version of Davinci Reoslve(I was using 16.2) and if you have that something must have gone wrong in the installation. You may have to reinstall it.
