when using the free imported preset from your link, the entire project becomes extremely laggy when editing any of the effect controls, for *any* clip (not just the one the preset is on) this makes it pretty much unusable, if it chalks the whole project. any tips on a workaround for this? can't sell people a product if the free sample makes the whole project unbearably laggy to edit

you dont?? you just need to use an email and you can just type in something random for the email. it will take like 2 min for the page to give you the download after. I also noticed the linkes are swpped. the link he has for the free on links the paid one. and the paid one links to the free one.

premire pro is to edit yourself its not really made for presets and stuff. its so you can tweak everything as much or as little as you want. they have apps for phone and probably pc where you can just add effects like this.

Your video is waay too edited, most of it is unecessary. I rather have an static capture of your screen with you on a bubble at the side than the constant zooms, pans etc. Maybe it's just me but I think that style works better for tutorials.
