I have zero interest in vlogging as well, but sometimes I want to take a selfie with my family in it and my daily lens is not wide enough, due to crop. I'm learning much from this channel, without paying for every single lens and camera combination. I was considering carrying gopro10 for video's and selfies. Every other youtuber says that either gopro10 is awesome or this sony 11mm 1.8 is awesome. Yet this channel really compares them in a realistic place and I see that the other youtuber's provide unreliable information. From this channel, I see that gopro10 is not awesome, and 11mm 1.8 is not the solution either.

You and all of us know Casey that a new Sony apsc camera body is coming. Sony is not just going to let Canon come in and sweep the apsc market. Also, these three new lenses for this apsc system (which sony is not even currently making any camera for) are enough indication of what is to come.

@@eagleeyephoto8715 Fuji definitely has the lion share of the mirrorless apsc market but Sony is no.2 and always have been. Sony makes all the sensors of Fuji. It is because Sony and Canon have been focusing so hard on full frame that they have been ignoring apsc, or else apsc segment would be as competitive as any other segment. And I would like to tell you that I infact very much like Fuji system a lot.

I honestly thought the GoPro looked better for all of the moving shots. At least on my phone. Also, tbh, I've always found something oddly pleasing about the GoPro images, despite their technical shortcomings. I think it's their colors and luminance values. And the stabe was sooooooooo nice. What you are getting out of the Sony does not make up for the Sony's jerky stabe when moving I'd agree with Sony for studio, GoPro for travel.

Still really glad you helped convince me to get the Olympus Em-1 Mark 2. I use my iPhone 13 Pro for slo-mo if necessary (with filmic pro natural colors.) I wouldn't mind a wider view with digital stabe -- ordered a long tripod to try, but not sure if any wide lens is worthwhile ( I have the Olympus 12mm 3.5-6.3 zoom lens.) But yeah, that ZVE10 looks better than I remembered. Seems like decent option for the price -- feels like they fixed some of the rolling shutter or something -- though I notice it when you panned side to side in your last video. Fun comparisons 👍

I am very curious what the p40 pro can do in Open Camera. You may be able to squeeze out higher frame rates, but I think more interestingly, you can raise the bit rates, shoot in flat, and find a sweet spot, for example 480fps at whatever the highest bit rate open camera allows before the video freezes. I can get 4K at 200mb/s on my LG V20, and it looks very good. Night and day from Standard phone app recordings. Even My Very old Huwaeii P8lite gets pretty respectable results (no 4k).

I liked the Gopro10 for its cinematic or 3D pop look the most, and the way its under exposing, and for the deeper greens. The Sony was too over exposed and needed to be ratcheted back, and the greens looked washed out to yellower greens with the "Patented Sony Color Science - Constant Magic Hour White Balance". Yes the first Sony I ever bought Bionz X was built-in "Magic Hour" at every hour, so the actual magic hour was even more magic with that extra push of the built-in magic hour White Balance. It was even "Magic Hour" at night time - hey my Fuji cameras did the same. But my previous Nikon dslr did that too, plus for some reason there would be colorations on insects that disappeared in the actual image ?????? I have no idea, except the UV/IR/Anti-ailiasing filter which is supposed to be 300nm to 700nm wavelengths, is really - and I'm guessing - is 350nm to 650nm UV/IR cut filter filter (Well actually the Infra red shooters said my old Nikon was much better at IR photography than the top of the line Nikon, with 700nm IR cut filters attached. So it probably allowed in more IR light like 700-750nm. Like it cuts out all IR light above 750nm). So where did my insect markings go Nikon? Were the markings a reflection of UV or IR that I saw in the optical view finder, but the cut filter cut out???? Who knows, I sold the camera because the AA part of the filter was so strong that my phones camera was actually sharper with 20% fewer pixels. Thats a great business model Nikon .......and Canon too. Hello Pentax and AA filterless with correct UV/IR cut filters with automatic underexposure, and brilliant saturated colors (Except the reds, sometimes the reds can be a little hot, but everything else is fantastic, except video, yes video kind sucks in Pentax land). But I do like the Sony 11mm 1.8 combo in the previous video as it seemed to have a little more 3D pop. Ughh, I don't know how you can call Fujifilm aspc pro, the color science is like vomit, and the bodies and lenses are built really cheaply. I had a 56mm 1.2 Fuji and dslr build quality is quite a few notches higher than Fujifilm build quality with slippery powder coated surfaces and no aperture ring locks. You should have seen the lens pouch the Fujifilm 56mm 1.2 came with, it was like this thin faux suede floppy cloth bag (Okay Faux is not pronounced Folks, its pronounced Fo, as in Mo-Fo. The "aux" makes an "Oh" sound.). Its not that Fuji wasn't trying on its lens pouch design, Fujifilm didn't give a **** about your pouch and whether the lens gets damaged. You literally have to go out and buy a decent lens pouch for your fuji lenses. Whereas Sigma or Pentax have robust heavy duty exterior materials, and very well padded and slick velvety interior materials in their pouches. Fuji is half assing it.
