This video solved my problem. It was very uncomfortable for me to draw with the position of my IPad before. Thank you so much.

Pete, I am so happy I purchase your app last year. You explain so easy and I'm not very tech smart with devises, lol, And, I love how you keep us updated on new features. If I buy an iPad do I need to purchase the app again??! Please explain and I hope to hear from you.
@CameraLucidaApp3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jazzy! If you've already bought the app then you and everyone in your family can use the app on all the devices you own without paying again. And, you get updates free. The only gotcha is that you need to sign in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used when you first bought it. Also, version 11.0 and up DID add a single new in-app purchase that isn't required to use the app, but if you purchase that, you can also use that feature on all your devices as well.

I have the 12v but dont have the Change Target feature. I don’t have a printer so I need to change the target for the front camera perspective. Im so frustrated as Ive been trying to do the adjustment manually and I cant get that to work either...gurrrr. Why dont I have that change? Thanks

Hi Gwen! Just use the "Contact Us" button within the app and we can chat about it, ok? The features associated with the automatic camera correction require an in-app purchase which is likely why you're not seeing it. But send me an email using the Contact Us button before you do that, ok? It's harder for me to track KZbin comments than it is emails.

Im having a very difficult time getting the mirror in the right angle any advise.
@evilAshTheDog3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Be sure to be in the camera setup mode while you're attaching the mirror so that you can see your drawing surface come into view. If you're in the setup mode, the screen will be filled with your reference image - so press that upper left camera button to go into the mode. In my case, the sharp edge of that little mirror seemed to just fit very nicely into the seam of the iPad. Other people have taken stiff wire and bent it around the left and right sides of their little mirrors and then into a loop that can be pressed onto the case. There are third party mirrors you can purchase to do this of course - use the Contact Us button and I'll let you know which ones I've tried.

Is it possible to get an A4 size picture, if so will you show me how please.
@evilAshTheDog2 жыл бұрын
It's quite easy to fit an A4 piece of paper in the field of view of the camera. As long as the camera has your piece of paper in it's "sight", then you can draw. As with any camera, just placing it further away creates a larger field of view. For shorter iPads, the camera will be closer to the paper - in these cases, just place the iPad up a couple of inches on a stack of books and you'll be amazed at how much that increases the field of view - and thus the size of the drawing you can make.

Does the mirror work on an iPhone also?
@evilAshTheDog3 жыл бұрын
Technically, sure. But the newer iPhone's cameras are pretty close to the edge, so getting the mirror properly positioned would be a bit more difficult. At one point a company sold a mirror that attaches to the top of your phone, but I can't find them any more.

Can this be done with an iPhone?
@evilAshTheDog3 жыл бұрын
It can, but it's trickier. The phone has to be up higher and it's just a bit more difficult to place the mirror where it should be. But, the software totally supports it.

Hey Pete...I have a question...if I download the Camera Lucida to my iPhone can I mirror it to my iPad instead of a MacBook?
@CameraLucidaApp3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Apple still has not provided any official support for sending video from one iOS device to another. There are apps out there that use some backdoors for accomplishing this, but I have found they are all horribly laggy. The ones that aren't laggy have reduced camera quality. To date, I know of no GOOD solution to this problem. I have written the tightest, most efficient camera capture and compression routines and done it myself, but it's still too slow. Apple does not allow access to the *compressed* video feed from the camera, instead only giving access to frame by frame data. While affective for most things, it means that if you want to send the video from one app to another, you have to re-compress the video stream - which is a double whammy. So, that's a long answer - sorry - but in a nutshell, the answer is, "not if you want a quality experience." I have hopes that Apple will provide this capability in the future after they've solved the potential digital rights issues involved.
