No matter what all the commenters have to say, it is always your choice. Personally I have had 3 different size Bass boats and recently downsized to a kayak!!!! I really enjoy the time of exploring and learning an area and having the stealth of a very small vessel. I have gotten to see so much more nature things that I have probably missed. I also have a lot less pressure on myself and enjoy the relaxation of taking it slow and easy. For the type of fishing you are doing, you could use a kayak but it would mean that you would not be able to take family and friends along with you in the same vessel. You get to figure out what works for YOU! You are doing a great job of doing that, keep it up!!! Another great video.

Great video Ron!! We’ve had our 15 Mako for almost 2 years now. It has worked great for us. We have even gone out fishing with our daughter with no problem. We also upgraded the gas tank to a 12 gallon tank, total game changer. On good days we can go out deep fishing about 8 miles out. We absolutely love it. The only problem with it has been the live well, we use it as dry storage 😂, but we just use a bucket with an aerator for bait. We also added a mount for an extra rod or to hold a grill for the sandbar, and my husband also retrofitted the live well pump and converted it into a wash down hose. For us this was the perfect boat for our budget 😊

Hey man, good honest review! One thing I did on my boat(2016 Ranger RP190cc) is put some stainless rod holders that mount on the grab rail over the console. I picked some up on amazon and they haven't rusted at all and had a good price point. they angle off to the side and are high enough for me to walk under while I have rods in them, so if I put cut bait rods in them and I'm casting I can easily follow fish to the stern casting deck with no issues. They mount exactly like that phone mount.

Serious question for you Ron do you go deep-sea fishing enough to make it worth getting a bigger boat because if you don't then keep the boat you have unless you want to do a boat that has best of both world big enough to go deep-sea fishing and small enough to do Shallowater fishing but I wouldn't go too big because gas bill will be very expensive and the cost of the new boat will also be very expensive

You want some rod holders towards the stern on both sides that angle the rods out for trolling. That way your lines are spread out more and tangle less when you turn while trolling. I think you would love an open fish center console catamaran for your next boat. They're more stable, use less fuel, and they have more deck than a monohull of the same length. And you can use a smaller engine because of less water resistance.
