3 years and this video keeps being useful, I stopped using this lens eons ago because the creep makes it a pain to use, now it's finally fixed, I cant believe it, it can finally go back to the Elan 7ne where it belongs. Thanx a lot!

Thanks for the tutorial, it helped me a lot fixing a "moving in small steps focus" problem and also fix up a wobbling front. Much appreciated!

Thank you so much for this professional advise - it would not have dared to touch any screw before, but now it was quite normal and ended in a great success. Go on like this!

Thanks for the video. I was able to follow it very easily and fix my wobbling lens. Getting to see the inner assembly of the lens let me blow some dust and hairs(!) away, so now zoom and focusing rings work bit more smoothly. Unfortunately I had to reopen the assembly twice. When almost ready on the first round, I noticed small rubber piece (2x4x1 mm) laying on my desk. It must have dropped from inside of the camera but where? Having no idea I decided to finalize the assembly. Soon after I managed to google EF 28-135 parts catalog and noticed the catalogue listed the same rubber thing and showed a picture where it belongs. The part was YA2-0124-00 FRICTION RUBBER and it had dropped off from the side of the USM motor. So, I disassembled the lens again and found the place where the rubber thing goes. Didn't notice much difference in friction though, the zoom is bit stiff anyhow. Great many thanks for your disassembly videos! I also found it very nice that you are not speeding up the video when doing repetitive screwing/unscrewing. It's nice to be able to do own work without having always to pause the video, if it's going too fast.

Inside of the lens I meant, not camera.

Hi great advice thank you. Is the assembly of this lens similar to the 28mm- 105mm f3.5-4.5 USM Mk2.? I have this type of wabble in this lens. Please advise.

Hello my friend. Thanks a lot for this video. Great content, smooth voice and a lot of help. I have these lens but I have two problems: firstly it won't focus. It comes back and forth and never reaches the focal point. Secondly, a good amount of fungus in it. I'll follow your steps to disassembly it, and clean it, but do you have any suggestions for the focusing problem? Thanks a lot for the content :)

Try to clean the focus strip. I have a video where I show how to do it on a Canon 17-85mm lens, and the two lenses are very similar, so you can use the 17-85mm lens disassembly video to disassemble your 28-135mm lens.
